Buying a jeep wrangler

Hi,

I am from boston, Planning to buy a jeep wrangler. I am more concerned with how much the insurance cost will be since it is an SUV. I am planning to buy a used one. not sure whether to buy a new one or not.

I would like to have some feedbacks from you guys

Regards,
Rupesh

I think insurance is different for everyone. I have no idea what your driving record is, but i have a clean drivers report and my jeep actually went down in insurance costs compaired to the car i used to have. My jeep insurance is $205.00 every 6 months with full coverage. My car was Just over $300.00 every 6 months. So i'm saving myself about $200.00 per year.

well. i had full coverage on a 2003 jetta, when i put liablilty on my 90 wrangler...it went up 1 dollar... i don't have a good track record either so i am not sure how that may help you. but it is said that it is easier to break into a jeep than a regular vehicle i konw that effects it.

^insurance goes way down when you hit 25, if you stay out of trouble.

i'd say you need to do some research on what jeep you like, cj-yj-tj-jk.

it can also be affected by where you live. I moved 3 times in Maryland and my cheapest rate was when I had an 80+ mile commute each way versus the 20min drive.

Ok looks good. I dont have a track record of driving in US. Got a license this month. But i heard that if you have a license in some other country for more that 6 yrs or so then ur license drops. I have one from india.

The collision insurance for my '02 Jeep is higher (approx 20%) than my '95 Lincoln Mark VIII. Mind you the Mark VIII is the same as the Mustang Cobra in terms of high performace vehicle risk.

I challenged the agent and he mentioned that there is a higher than average claim rate associated with collision damage on the Jeeps. He basically told me that too many people make claims after they waffle them in the woods on the weekends. He then told me I was lucky I did not have one in red or it would be higher.

Did I say I really despise insurance companies?

mine went down like 70% when i hit 25. i got full coverage on my xj for about 400 a year now. i have 2 full coverage cars, comprehensive on the wrangler, had motorcycle insurance, 2 life insurance, and homeowners for $180 month or so. if you guys stay out of real trouble it is great later, i had a ticket or two that was it.

anywho, what kinda jeep do you want rupesh?
