Nice find. I wonder why the results of their CAI testing didn't surprise me in the least?

I preach this to my circle of friends and they always look at me like I just took a dump on their hood.

Oh well this is simple to explain. The reason that didn't make any gains is because the filter wasn't K&N! Duh!!

I actually hold mine with my left arm out of the window. This has a cold air/snorkel effect. The best of both worlds!

I've been wanting a chrome tube bumper anyhow, so I'll zip tie my air filter to it.

I work at a VW dealer & I cant count how many people take the factory airbox out that gets its air intake from out of the engine bay & put in a "hot air intake" that now is sitting in the hot engine bay sucking its air.Um,hello??

Great clip thanks for sharing. We have always heard COIs and K&N type filters were useless for most applications. Hopefully some people will save their $$$ and buy more Big Macs instead.

Yeah right, you guys and your "science", lol. What's next? Stickers don't REALLY add horsepower?

I bought my S2K with a CAI already on it. The most useful gain I got out of that CAI is I literally could not drive it in the rain... So the car stayed clean.

Yes, very informative! I've been curious if the CAI was all myth or reality and this makes a strong case for myth. I do wonder about one thing, though... their test setup. It was using a car that basically already had one from the factory, so the results didn't surprise me at all. I'd love to see the same test on a factory wrangler vs a snorkel. That would make it a lot more compelling for us here. Then we'd see a setup with no performance tuning as a baseline, unlike the factory setup of the car used.

Note that I have no opinion either way. I don't have one now and would simply like to know if there is anything I can do to get a bit more power from my 3.8 jkur.
