Calling on TALL Jeep owners!!!

I need some help! I am a total newbie, just took the first Jeep I looked at for a test drive only to find out that my 6'5" frame had some difficulty shifting with my knees planted against the dash board! Now there must be some tall Jeep owners out there, what are you guys doing to fit?

Is there a readily available solution to being too tall to drive a Wrangler?

Any help would be appreciated!!!

JK's are not in the price range. Rebolting the seat further back was the only thing I could think of as well. I was hoping there was a simpler solution.

I was just on quadratec looking at those. I am wondering if there is such a thing as aftermarket risers or sliders that allow for additional leg room?

The seat risers worked wonders for me... but I'm 5'1" and I can see over the dash now but can't reach the gas.

All kidding aside, the risers may help.

I would probily just rebolt the seat back a little farther back
I would think that the seat risers would put you to high making your head hit the top all the time

I'm 6'5" with a 32" inseam and have no trouble, you sure it was back all the way or it wasn't a CJ5

I have a 36" inseam which may be my problem. It was a 97 TJ and the seat was definitely all the way back. I am going to look at a YJ tomorrow, hopefully that works out better.

I'll be curious to hear how you fit in the YJ. I'm only 5'-10" and feel like my head is too close to the sound bar and with the steering wheel tilted down at a normal angle I have the wheel in my lap.

Bestop seats on the stock risers.

Fit much better in the YJ. Still tight but not nearly as bad as the TJ.

If you are looking at a YJ be sure to get underneath it, start looking for frame rot with a flashlight, pay special attention to the area of the frame around the rear shock mounts and the crossmember, they tend to rust there first. Check the body mounts too, I don't now what area of the country you are looking in.

Hmm... didn't see that you had a YJ. Couldn't hurt to shoot them an email and ask if they have an option for you.

Nice looking rig too!
