Can anyone give a Krylon Fusion update?

Hey guy's how is the Krylon Fusion holding up on your flares? I just started taking my flares off tonight to spray them this weekend. How long have yours been sprayed and how do they look now??

I sprayed mine about a year ago. They look just like new.

my flares aren't sprayed, but i have used the krylon fusion before on other plastic. it is all about the surface prep. make sure you clean it really well with a solvent or a paint thinner. you can also get a paint prep solvent from the hardware store.

Mine are partly faded because I tried to WD-40 them to see how well that would work. (and it did for about 3 days) So I guess I didn't completely scrub the stuff off because after I painted them (with Krylon fusion) it only took few days until they looked a bit faded in a few places, and the paint chipped off one place too. You really can't tell unless your looking for it but it bugs me, I'll get around to scrubbing them down and doing it again.

Not Krylon's fault!

Yeah I should have done it more but I had already spent half an hour scrubbing so I thought it would be ok.

Ummm how do I get the rear inner fender wells out?? I didn't realize it needed to come out. Now the nuts have dropped back inside there.

well i cant answer your question cause i didn't take mine off, it was actually really easy just to mask and spray, but i can answer the question of whether it holds up or not and that answer is yes. I did mine about a year ago and they still look great.

I've been out spraying mine in the garage today. They look good, but taking the flares off is a PITA. I HATE those stinkin plastic nut things.

The inner rubber part of the wheel well will come loose when you pop the christmas tree plugs at the bottom and top. If they are in the condition mine were you will need some more to replace them with. Once they pop out they are probably going to be warped. The inner part is rubber and will pop back with a little force. All the plastic "nuts" will fall out. Mine had two types. Pay attention to the screw as to which back goes on which. If you reach behind and hold the plastic nuts the screw will come out much easier. Mine were done last spring and look just like they did when I sprayed them. I do have some nicks from rocks/etc hitting them at highway speeds. But they still look much better than the faded grey

Can you post before and after pics so I can see. I trimmed my flares the other day too and they need some new color. Thanks.
