Can it be any quiter?

I'm new to the whole jeep idea(or to cars in general) I'm looking for my first car and a jeep wrangler would be my dream car but any wrangler we test drive( me/dad) is too loud, I really don't care but it drives my dad crazy and he doesn't want one because of it and I was wondering is there any way to reduce noise (cheap, like a kit, or just simple items to buy and install at home) inside so my dad won't complain if we get one( or persuade him to buy one). Any advice from experienced jeep owners will help. Thanks

do you mean "Bred"? lol but yes the new jku's are very quiet with a hard top and you can get liners to make them even more quiet.

Get a nice head unit with an auxiliary port for you ipod, turn the dial to an appropriate level and then the soft top noise won't even be noticeable.

Also you do get used to it, eventually just becomes part of the background noise and unconsciously talk louder.

there are a lot of things that can be done to make 'em "quieter"...the question is how much do you want to spend to get there? A hardtop will be the quietest or top off around town not bad at all than

He doesn't say what is loud. He doesn't mention which Wrangler. A bit of detail in your post will help you get the help you are seeking.

If youre test driving soft tops try one with a hard top. If the jeeps youre driving have aggressive tread on the tires they make noise. A stock jeep with a hard top is probably going to be as quiet as you get theyre just loud by nature. You can insulate the hard tops. See if your dad will get you a hard top then you can switch them out.

The more I think about this post the more it bothers me.... If you don't like noise, then don't buy a jeep. Everyone of them is noisy is some regard.

I was just thinking the other day as I drove mine how quiet it was. Seriously, i have a hard top but Ive seen these "loud" posts before and can't understand the issue. tell pops you'll be 100X safer in the Jeep and he'll be all for it.

I love the rumble my Jeep does when it goes! The only thing I can think of that'd be noisy is the softtop.

My Dad and brother both suggested a hardtop for that very reason, it's quiet with a hardtop, if that's your concern.

I am not saying our 2012 soft top is totally quiet but my wife and I really can not believe, how quiet it is, compared to our convertible BMW Z4 we had.

The time it is loud is when it is pouring rain!

The hardtop Jeep was very quiet but we just liked the soft top.

Just bought a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with a hardtop. Just as quiet as our Chrysler 300C Hemi.
