Cargo options?

Summer is here and family vacations are coming up. Of course i have to bring my jku to the beach, but with 2 kids and limited space in the back i seem to have to 2 options on carrying extra stuff. Using a hitch mounted cargo carrier or use a softshell cargo bag and strap that to the roof of the hard top.

What do you all do and any opinions on what kind of cargo carrier you have and or like.

thanks.

I would say the hitch mounter cargo carrier would probably be the best bet. They work well and you can pack a lot of stuff on them. I honestly dont know the brand of the one I use because its really old... I picked it up at a yard sale a while back. But this one is nice, thought about buying to replace mine. When mine falls apart this is the one I will get...

Hitch carrier is better option. But don't go cheapo on it, get a quality one or have a welder make you a nice one. The cheap ones say they hold 500 lbs but they bend and look like crap after the first real use. The ratchet straps I used to hold down my cooler and tent stuff bent the snot out of my cheap northern tool piece of junk.

i figure a few more straps might be needed, but will it hold at 75mph?

I was cruising along today at 80 mph without the top or doors in my JKR. TJ's struggle at high speed? I know older Jeeps do, but I don't consider TJ's old.
