Catalytic Converter 2012 Wrangler

When giving the 2012 Jeep Wrangler a lot of gas to pass a car I smell fumes coming out of the vents and I am told this is normal?Dealer said it could be burning off the catalytic converter. If so will the smell eventually go away?I have 1300 miles on it so far.

After 3 trips to the dealer I was told this is the exhaust manifolds burning off and is normal.Just wondering if anyone else has this smell after accelerating hard?

When you get 3000 miles on it or so the smell goes away.

I don't remember any smell with mine. But I'm kinda insensitive to such things, so maybe it was there and I just paid it no mind.

No. it does not sound normal. I have a 2013 Wrangler with 540 miles and I never smell any fumes coming out of the vents.

I never smelled them coming out the vents. When I would follow me jeep in another jeep or car I smelled it between 1000 miles and 3000 miles the smell is gone now.
Dealer is clueless to what it was.

We got a 2012 Jeep and have just over 6000 miles on it now. Never smelled anything. That does not sound right to me.

I was told by customer service to take it easy on it until it is broken in at about 5000 miles.I only smell these fumes when accelerating to pass.I thought when I bought it the salesman told me to run it because it's a Jeep and can take it? They also told me at the dealership to change gas stations.Still makes fumes come out the vents no matter what gas is used.2200 miles and counting!
