LOL, at this point I'd vote for him...but I'd vote for Snoopy over our current problem.

I carry at all times, except at work (its not allowed in hospitals ) It goes along with being an Eagle Scout...Be Prepared

I too Favor a Pump Shotgun for home defense...

Actually it is the same in NY, believe it or not. Unless you have some kind of record that disqualifies you, they have to issue you one although I don't believe they have to issue an unrestricted one. Of course, they sure aren't in any hurry about it. The initial permit takes months. Then you have to do an addendum for every added handgun, though I have heard they are quicker.

As to the original post, I know of a guy in the industry I work in who was at a gas station. While pumping gas, two thugs come up and try to rob him. He reaches for his wallet, pulls out his handgun and shows one what the other's brains look like. It was found to be completely justified.

i know a really nasty choke hold that will put just about anyone to sleep in under 30 seconds. i just can't kill someone for stealing, dude could have kids and all. severely wounding them however, i'm good with that. restrain and call the cops. just my personal ethics, though. i just couldn't have that on my conscience. i'd never tell anyone they were wrong if they did shoot someone. we all know the stories of someone putting the hurt on a burglar, only to get sued. we have also heard of people getting sued by a crook's families if they got killed in the act. i'd like to think the justice system would come through, but it doesn't always. you just can't defend yourself or your property it seems. i don't mean to make it political, just thinking on a keyboard.
now if i feel my or my wife's life is in danger, i'm shutting someone the F down, no questions asked.

I posed the questions to my ex husband(we were married at the time) if it came down to me or our sons what would he do.. he wouldnt answer I told him flat out sorry honey love you but you would be dead. nothing is more important to me then my boys.period. least of all me. I would go all crazy mama bear on someone if they were threatened. he got offended. ahh well.

Just the good old arm triangle, properly applied. I'm a 250 pound guy, so it takes a pretty strong dude or someone with the know how to get out of it.
If you have the opening, the guillotine choke works well, but since you're most likely going to have to grab a fleeing thief from behind.........
Cutting off blood flow to the brain is the key, it just knocks the person out. I'd never use a windpipe choke, too easy to really mess someone up, if not kill them.

I had someone brake into my jeep (not sure if I can call it braking into cause the top and doors were off at the time ) they had gone through my center console and put everything on the seats that was in there, lucky at the time it was mostly trash a few screws and some loner tools so I cleaned up the trash and put my stuff neatly back in the console lol when my civic got broken into it was a lot worse! They had tried to hit wire it and ripped the sun roof glass out stole all my stereo equipment and some frisbe golf gear that i was borrowing from my boss at the time I had finger prints in dust on some of the plastic that they had tore off and shoe prints on my roof and hood, when I called the cops they said sorry have a nice day!!! People who steal are deffinately the lowest of the low, luckly for me I am now security for a large grocery chain and a special comissioned police officer so I get to take people out for stealing all the time

Your right in certain counties. NY is weird like that it all depends on county weather you get a restricted, unrestricted, or denied. It's MAY issue in Onondaga county (Syracuse area) I used to live there, hated it by the way I know people in the southern tier counties that had no problems getting unrestricted permits While people in Onondaga were flat out denied for not providing "proper cause"

When I was in college I had a professor that had a large sign in his office that said "Gun Free zone, Criminals welcome" great guy learned a lot from him.

That's the way Massachusetts is also...one town differs from the next purely because the final decision is left up to the police chief of that particular town/city. The cities, for obvious reasons are generally tougher and they tend to make you jump through many hoops to get through the process. I actually gave up on the "process" in the city of Lawrence MA and carried illegally years ago, now I live in the "live free or die" state of NH where permits to carry concealed are given freely as long as you're not a convicted felon...
On the other hand my ex GF went to her police chief in Boxford MA (a wealthy town) and the chief gladly granted her one.

Yup it's amazing how the system works in some places. I have a non resident CCW in a couple states, NH included since I'm over there pretty often, very easy to get no hoops etc... I applied for MA CCW last year and they want $100 a a year to protect myself in there crappy state....F that I just won't go there.
