Choosing a trailer??

Now that the pickup is gone and the Jeep is in the driveway I am looking for a utility trailer. Due to space limitations and local regulations, I have to keep it in the garage (same place I would like to park the Jeep). I am looking at two, a 4'x6' all welded from Tractor Supply and a 4'x8' folding "kit" from Harbor Freight. The kit trailer is bolted together but folds in half for storage, the welded one is.......welded, but I think I can still store it up on end.

Anyone have experience with that folding Harbor Freight trailer??

harbor freight does not make a strong trailer imo. my husband looked at one before and was not impressed. it is chinese made. the material is sub par at best. if you do decide to go with it though, i would recommend only loading it to 3/4 of its recommended weight limit. where in pennsylvania are you? are you familiar with quakertown? there is a place there that makes trailers called Ringo Hill Farms -> Welcome to Ringo Hill Farms Equipment Co.. they are American made and cost the same as the "stuff" that they sell at tractor supply.

Quakertown? Not familar with it.

Thanks for the input, I kind of expected that about Harbor Freight, but like that folding feature. We are in the northwest corner of the state, right on Lake Erie.

ah, then quakertown is a little far from you (central east coast). but ya i would be very careful w/ the harbor freight one. you don't want it flying apart going down the road. if you are dead set on it, check any welds it has and loc-tite the bolts and such where applicable.

Howdy neighbor!

There is a guy just east of Corry that builds trailers. I talked to him a few years ago when I was looking at buying one. Ended up getting one for nothing from my Dad but his stuff was top notch. He may have already made a folding type or probably could come up with a design.

You should go to the expedition portal forum it has a section on trailer that's really helpful.
