CJ and TJ d44 axle shaft differences

will a axle shaft from my tj's rear d44 work in my 74 cj5's rear d44?

I'm pretty sure that the TJ 44's are longer than even the wide track CJ axles. However you might have an aftermarket 44 in there as I thought the only option even for the V8 back in the 70's was the Model 20?

thats what I was thinking.

some of the older cj's came with the d44's stock. I dont know how common or rare they were but my 74cj5 that originally had a 304v8 has one and my 73cj5 that has a I-6 has a d44
