Classic Jeeps

I went on a local scenic drive on Sat. and saw these. Stopped to check them out. They were both for sale but I didn't ask how much.
The first one he said is a 53. He said it was the first year with an overhead cam engine and that is why the hood is so tall. The second one he said is a 46.

not sure what the reason for the tall hood is, but it's a cj3b.

I have no idea about the engine, that's just what he told me. Maybe someone with more Jeep knowledge will chime in.

Yep...3B had the Hurricane engine, which was taller than the old go-devil, thus, a high hood line. Most people either like the 3B, or hate it...I have looked for a decent one and have not found one. My Great Uncle had one. I totally love the 3B, myself...
