Control arm bushings

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how u can tell if a control arm bushing is bad

If you can see cracks in then, if the bushing it's self is loose, the metal sleeve is loose, you can move your control arm even though the bolt is tight.

What if u can put a screw driver in between the bushing and mount and can flex the bushing from side to side

You shouldn't be able to put anything in between the bushing & mount, It should be a tight fit.

That doesnt sound good. I would pull the bolt out, drop the CA down and inspect the joint.

If you can put something between the rubber and the bushing shell, it is shot. The rubber can be cracked on the outside, but the main thing that matters is if it is still firm and not wallowed out. How many miles are on it?
