Couple questions about new JK :)

Alright, so I just got a 2009 X a couple days ago and I'm starting to really get in the groove of things. I was able to take off the soft top yesterday without much trouble at all...harder to put it back on though, lol. What kind of soft top is it that just has the one rear window right behind the two front seats? Most of the time I don't need the rear seat in, and I've seen a few little guys running around with that one top option. Also, I just got down to glare at the undercarriage suspiciously (never know if he's "gotten around" or not) and noticed a lot of white stuff under there. I don't think it's really serious because I wiped a line of it away with my finger and there was a clean coat of paint beneath (this was right beneath the door where it was still painted). It's weird because it's spotted, like someone had just splattered a bunch of the stuff under it.

I think you are describing a halftop. Bestop makes them Quadratec, and all the other 4x4 places carry Bestop stuff. The stuff underneath is probably just stuff from the road..

This is exactly what InfernoGirl already said, but just a bit more:

It sounds like you're describing a "half top" option.

For a 2009, that's a combination of three parts: A Bikini top, a Duster (tonneau cover) and a Windjammer (piece that drops down behind the seats).

We sell this combo sewn together for a TJ, but for a JK, you need to buy the bundle. More flexible, but less weatherproof. Quad sells it as a bundle, but you can buy all three pieces anywhere,

Hard Half Tops are also available from other companies - it's not cheap, but it's a cool look. AEV makes a nice one.
