Unhappy dealer screwed my rear window....

I bought my Jeep used from a Ford dealer who screwed up the window.

I have the double zipper window (don't know if it is like that on all models) and when the zippers are examined, they somehow zipped the window in with the zipper body not completely seated. As a result I cannot remove the window when I put the top down.

Any suggestions on a replacement window and getting this botched window removed? My Jeep dealer wants several hundred dollars to replace JUST THE REAR WINDOW!!!!!

Thanks

How do you know they broke it? Probably the PO traded it in like that.... What I'd do, if it were mine (YMMV) is lube it up with some zipper lube, and force it to unzip, then, it'll probably work fine. Now since you're not me, you might recommend to the dealer that they try something similar, and if they do bust it, then it should be on them to fix it... How long have you had the Jeep? Did it come with like a 30 day warranty or anything?

Go to an upholstery store and see if they can fix it. I did that in Phx, and they replaced my whole zipper on my door for $20. It was pretty funny carrying my Jeep door in a clothes store with a bunch of women lol

Yep. Same thing happened to me, though I bought mine (CPO) from a Jeep dealer. I didn't realize until after I got home (~30 miles away from the dealer) that whomever put the rear window in last managed to mis-align the zipper so that it was off by about 2 teeth.

After 5-10 minutes of working with it (didn't think to lube it up or anything), I managed to unzip it completely. I re-aligned it correctly and everything has been fine since.

Dish soap or rubbing a bar of soap along the zipper serves as a nice lube material
