Ask them when the last time the muffler bearings were serviced and if it's been topped off with blinker fluid.

Hahaha! That's one of my favorite pastimes.... F'n with the salesmen... I love telling them about their products... Did it yesterday even, about a Sublime Charger they had sitting on the lot.

That's not so far fetched. People have been known to drop Buick V6's in CJ's. Nevermind, I just realized you said, 2006. Up until 1971 the Buick "dauntless" V6 was an option in the CJ.

Before you buy it make sure they repack the bumper bearings and change the air in all the tires to summer air.

When I was first looking to buy a Jeep I went to a dealership and asked to test drive a Wrangler. The first thing the salesperson does when he takes me outside is ask it I'd like to drive a Liberty instead. "It's exactly the same underneath as the Wrangler, " he says to me. Ugh. Even before I had some Jeep smarts I knew he was a moron. I asked to drive a Wrangler, not a Liberty.

how about a dealership that held your deposit and sold the car to someone else?

the conclusion of the story, I got my money back and never went back to that sketchbarn

Mine was that I bought my JK last July with a promise of a hard top installed by August 20th (which is why I bought from them and not another dealer that had one w/ hardtop already-just didnt' want a red one all that much). Got installed in mid Feb this year. Rear defroster still doesn't work. Now there ordering a new switch. Idiots.

Sorry, I forgot the funny part in my irritation.

When the wife and I showed up to look over the new jeep, we took our '06 Wrangler with us. The salesman told us that the '09 will feel much more like driving in a Willy's than the one we showed up in. I should have known then that I should drive away, but I wanted a silver JK.
