So I had my stock 2010 wrangler out in some water yesterday. It only came up to the bumper. We were driving around and when we hit the water again she instantly died. Never was able to restart it and the electrics were all jacked up. It made only a clicking sound when we tried to turn her over, but otherwise clock kept resetting and dash kept going dark. Finally had to have it towed......any ideas?

It's wet. Distributor, ignition system, electronics. Just let it sit for a while and dry out, the amount of time can vary depending on where you live. You also may have water in the cylinders, which is no bueno, consider pulling spark plugs and looking with an inspection camera or finding a way to get it dried out if so.

It is possible you have hydro locked your engine.

Sounds like you did a good job messing up your Jeep....

And an even better job picking a user name.

Trade it in on a boat!

Nah, I think I'll just drop a new engine in her and but a snorkel kit. Any suggestions on one?

Completely agree, but not going to take any chances of a bad hit on a small water crossing. F that, learned that lesson the hard way

Keep your stock intake. If you really want to relocate it move it to the cowl so that if your nose dips you have a chance, but then you have to worry about the drain in there unless ya go H1 style. Extend your diff and tranny breather tubes and be happy. In water the rule is slow as possible, quick as necessary. Always check the depth before hand with a stick or antenna.

That's what I did.....then as luck would have it....the new jeep was less than 26 hrs old and some f*ckstick pulled in front of me and I rear ended him. Th best part was.....he was driving on a suspended license.

How do I post pics from my phone to here?
