I peeled the jeep, wrangler and X logos off of my 2006 about three weeks ago. Did it in the garage at work while talking to my buddy on his cigarette break. Pretty easy to get off.
As for the Trail Rated badge... that I have not messed with. I have wondered if it is covering up a hole. On my Jeep it is in the exact same spot as the antenna is on the other side. So as mentioned, I will paint it black with Plasti-Dip. Then it will be a black dot, just like the antenna mount on the other side is.
Took the wrangler x and jeep stickers off my 03 with just a hair dryer and thumb nail. Five minutes per side. Zero decals for about a year but I just ordered the red white and blue Jeep decals from pixel decal dot com.
Don't use a heat gun...a plain hairdryer will do for both the stickers and the Trail Rated badge (I removed the TR badge last week).
The stickers are easy...heat em up, peel em off and use rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone to clean up the glue residue.
For the Trail Rated badge, heat it up really well with the hairdryer, till it's almost too hot to touch (gloves will help). Once I had it nice and warm, a forced length of kite string (any string will do) behind it from the top till the string was about in the middle, then pulled the badge off. There was some thick black stuff, almost like tar, left on the side of my Jeep. I just rolled it up like some rubber cement, then cleaned the mark with rubbing alcohol. No problem.
Once you remove the stickers and any badges, wax the area so it'll look uniform with the rest of your paint job.

actually, since you live in texas, just let them sit in the sun for a bit and then you can literally peel them off. that's what I did haha, and then just used some nail polish remover to get any stickiness left behind. very simple and a cool "mod"
