I learned about acknowledging other vehicle owners when I purchased my 88 Porsche 928S4. Porsche owners flash their headlights at each other because we drive too fast to take our hands of the steering wheel.
I get waves from other Mini Cooper owners when I drive her.
I wave at all Wranglers and will return any Jeep wave that I get. I do notice that very few JK owners wave back though.
i dont get all of you, where does it stop? so we have to wave now to Libertys, the compass etc. Look if your in a vette do you wave to a porshce? no. A Jeep is not a Jeep sorry. Wrangler are wranglers for a reason. I am against it sorry, not to sound like a snob but seriously where does it stop. You are telling me the person driving the new Grand Cherokee is a Jeep enthusiast? Or if they have a Complass that they are enthusiasts? All of us who have Wrangler whether it be a CJ, YJ, TJ or JK we have a passion for JEEP. I am even against the power windows, door locks, the 2011 with the heated seats and mirrors, give me a fckn break! I have had 3 Jeeps and I would never and will never understand why you would get a Wrangler with power options. NO WAY! Jeep is going down hill in my opinion. I think the JK is the last of the real Jeeps and even as a JK owner I find the JK to be a little too civilized. Just my two cents.
i agree with being against power windows and locks. whats the point in a jeep the doors come off for gods sake doesnt do much good having power locks on a doorless jeep lol
It's just common courtesy to wave back at someone if they wave at you but I won't wave at them first. Same goes for any Jeep nowadays that's not a Wrangler (ie the top and doors don't come off). If you wanted a Wrangler you should have gotten a Wrangler. Don't front like you're down.
I will admit that I accidentally waved at an H3 a while back. It just came up out of the blue and fooled me for a sec. I probably made the dude's day.
"I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead"
I don't wave first at other types of Jeeps unless they are modified. If it is modified you know it is a real Jeeper. I will aknowledge any Jeep wave though. I wave at Jeeps when I am driving my Chevy Venture or even the Chevy Aveo I deliver Pizza in.
So I'm not a real Jeeper because mine isn't modified? Sounds really snobby to me and against everything Jeep. I can't afford the mods I want right now cuz I have to pay my mortgage...
it was just a question and it has nothing to do with being a jerk, its an acknowledgement of one jeeper to another much like harleys and vetts. i was just wondering if libertys applied, thats all, you all took this and ran with it
wow dude i was thinking the exact thing, along with "gee i am glad I didnt ask this question" lol
I currently own a KK liberty, my first vehicle. I did recently order a JKU and she's due to come pretty soon. At the time though when I got my license, I didn't feel right buying a 4 Door Wrangler as I was new to driving(Large vehicle, not aerodynamic...) and didn't want to spend the extra 15k that the the JKU commanded, but I still love Jeep. I understand NOT initiating a wave to a Liberty, but if the Libby waves first, what's your problem?
That said, I wave all the time to Wranglers in my Liberty. Every single Wrangler that has seen me wave has waved back with a smile, and I appreciate it. The ones who don't wave, are either soccer moms or just didn't see me. Usually they're too focused on the road and don't see me
Hmmm, in my area (southern mass) it seems to be a wrangler thing. I've never had a liberty or Cherokee wave at me. I suppose I would wave back because I'm a friendly guy but I haven't come across it. I work with a girl who says she won't even wave to JKU's because they're not real jeeps. Curiously though she will wave to me when I'm in my JKU. I think she's a jeep snob.
