Do I need a new speedo gear?

I have 30" tires on my 98 TJ 2.5L..5spd if that matters..
and when I'm running like 55-60ish on the highway I seem to be keeping up with most traffic..(70mph speed limit)..just curious if the 30s affected the speedo at all..I originally didnt think it would since they're only 30"

thanks

Find your build sheet, find out what tires your jeep rolled off the lot with. I just replaced mine. My jeep came with 28" tires. i pulled out a 30 tooth. I have 31's now so I went with a 27 tooth. It's perfect.
The factory overcompensates a little. Most
people are more accurate with a 1 size increase in tires because of it.
My guess is NO. I had a 3 size diff, and my Odometer was off Like 5-7% I would not think yours is off that much.
Best way to tell is using gps
