Do Jeep windshields pit and crack more easily

My 2010's windshield has one small star (I filled it), a few small chips, and is otherwise covered with micro pits that cut visibility when there's glare. It's only been driven on northeast highways and city streets.

Do Jeep windshields take more abuse because they're not slanted back like most cars? What's your experience? Do I live with it until it's cracked bad enough to be replaced?

Yes, similar, and yes. Although, comp will cover glass breakage, and some states have free windshield replacement. Get $0 ded on your comp coverage now... you'll be glad you did...

Get full glass coverage if you dont already. Due to them being as flat as they are you will go thrugh a few.

Have you noticed how flat they are compared to other windshields? A concave windshield has less surface area exposed at a time and is much stronger than a jeeps "flat" windshield. I go through about two a year myself, just too many rocks off road!

I've been lucky so far. After three years owning my TJ the only crack I've had in the windshield is when a deer went through it. Of course, that tore up my entire front end as well and sent my rearview mirror through the back soft top window, haha.
