Do Wranglers get stolen?

My last car was stolen right from my street. So, I'm obviously worried about that happening to my new Wrangler, especially if I want to take the doors and top off. I'm not too worried about the stuff inside seeing as i'm not going to keep anything in there. But, I was just wondering if Wranglers being stolen is a problem. Or if it easy to hot wire one. Any comment will be extremely helpful. Thanks.

Is the POPE a Catholic ??

Of course they get stolen, it's up to you to provide security sys that might prevent that, but if somebody wants your jeep--say ByBy-

i've been looking up different ways to secure my jeep from getting stolen. is there a certain fuse that i could pull? i know it'd get annoying pulling it everytime i get out of the jeep, but i'd rather have the piece of mind knowing that it's not going to get stolen

I'm afraid not, the JK/JKU jeep os to compex elex-to make a simple fuse/coil wire/batt disc-

You either have to parkit in a garage, or setup a motion sensing security system --or

You would prob be safer if you owned a JK/JKU. I have heard of quite a few TJ and YJs being stolen but for some reason I have never heard of a JK being stolen.

On a tj you can put an ignition interlock switch that will DETER theft. Not make it not happen. Ask Jerry about theft. His is eternally gone

If it is truly a concern....... I would have a professional put a toggle switch in line with the fuel pump. Just put it in a remote location that is easily accessed every time you get in the Jeep. Like under the seat, up against a rail. This will not prevent them from getting AWAY... but they will not get FAR if it does start....

The trick to stealing a vehicle is SPEED of theft......deterence is your only hope..... you can NEVER stop a determined thief. I can steal any car in minutes with a tow truck......alarm or not....

That might be because of the sentry key system or the fact that even thieves hate the jk.

Jeeps that are labeled rubicon, sahara are stolen faster , jeeps built up go fast too, mine was a sahara with extras, out of the three jeeps on my block I was the only one with alarm system n doors hardtop, it pays to have a good insurance , lojack, remote switch somewhere it can't be found ( they will find it) they have keys already to steal any jeep an possibly blockers for alarms n lojack, they can tow quickly then startup n go , mine had nothing of the three critical antitheft devices, s o l , my next jeep will have nothing straight good or any reason to part out, full insurance , lojack or something sym, remote start/kill switch , good luck n keep on jeeping

Live in a rural area. They won't steal it if they aren't there.

Win for me. Otherwise park your jeep by your house and put a sign on it that says "This is jeep is protected by 'gun make of your chosing' and I AM watching you"

and then put a picture of you with a gun in your window so when they look at your house they see you standing there.

I'm a police officer in Houston. As long as I've been, I have never seen a Wrangler stolen. I heard a co-worker mention an old Cherokee once.

There has to be some way. Might be complicated but possible. Wouldn't a switch that interrupts the battery do it?

With all those computers in the JK it might complain. they have the battery cut off:
Hella Lighting 002843011 - Hella Battery Master Switch with Key - Quadratec

Or I guess you could install a heavy duty relay in the power line to the starter. but theoritically it could still be pop started.
High Power Solenoids
200 Amp 12 Volt High Power Relay

Then you would just need a hidden switch somewhere.

Or I don't know it the JKs have it, but the nuetral safety switch could be fiddled with if its an auto. I've heard on the TJs you can put in a fuse to over ride it, so theoretically if you have an auto and pull the fuse it wont start. you could set up the same style switch as the door override.

Or speaking of the neutral safety switch, you could put a relay/switch on that somehow...

Won't work on a newer jeep but on a tj or yj you could run a wire and toggle switch between the coil negative and ground. Mount the switch somewhere hidden and route the wiring so it's not noticeable.
