Does anyone deck there jeep out in christmas stuff?

This year I decided to put lights on my stinger for a little Christmas decoration. Iv seen other people do this before. But idk how they got it to work.
I was told I couldn't wire strait to the battery since it would leave it on all the time. So I tryed to be creative. I hooked it up to a cigaret lighter plug. But I didn't have any lights when I turned it on..
Help?
I disconnected the wires since I have to go to work ill have to mess with it later.

You will need a power inverter. To convert the 12 volt dc charging system to 120 volt ac lights

My wife wants to deck her Wagoneer out with Christmas lights, etc. But she hasn't done it yet.

I just installed a wreath on my winch this evening. I took a pic, but it's not that good. I'll post it here and try to get a better pic tomorrow in the daylight.

In '05 I entered a local Christmas parade that we have on thanksgiving weekend. Went out bought a DC/AC converter, three strands of LED lights, and basically decorated my TJ like a Christmas tree. Only bad thing was I had the top down and it was 30deg. and about to snow.

I used to wrap lights around my Jeep. It was awesome, and got a ton of thumbs ups!

I'm waiting on some 12v lights I ordered from Amazon. I plan on hooking them into my trailer wiring.

I've always used battery powered lights on vehicles. The ones with C-Cell or D-cells will last a week or two usually, and if you forget to turn them off, it isn't a big deal

Alright, so Im thinking of putting some lights on my bumper. I heard that some LED christmas lights work with ac and dc power, so if I just strip that I can just hook it up to the battery or alternator. Is this true? And if it is, will it work?

Has anybody here actually gotten a ticket for having colored lights on your vehicle? Some states (including mine) do not allow you to have lights all over your ride.

No, and I've blown by plenty of cops with a ton of lights on.
I found a pic of my old Jeep with the lights on (I drove with them on). I also had lights wrapped around the back with a wreath on my spare tire. They probably were too busy to pull over a slow Santa Clause

Pretty sure its illegal to have blue or red lights on your vehicle here in WA because its cop light colors and all that. But I run blue LEDs in the grill everynight and in the morning when its dark and its pretty visible. Get lots of looks with it (in a good way). Ive passed over 10 cops head on with them on and they dont even care. Infact this morning it was pretty dark and I had them and my running lights only on (I call the yellow blinker lights the running lights) and there was a cop directing traffic through construction and he didnt seem to care. As for Christmas lights, I feel like the police wont care since its the holiday season and most everyone is in a cheerful mood

Doubt it. It's not weither its AC or DC it's the voltage. All christmas light strings I've seen are for 110V. Jeeps are only 12V. A small inverter like post 2 & 4 should do it. LED strings don't pull too much. Check the wattage on the package and get the correct size unit.

FWIW: red lights on the front of a vehicle are illegal, and blue can be, however christmas lights are not that bright and I don't think a cop will hassle you over light colors when it's obvious you're decorated and not trying to play cop.

Blue lights are a no go here in Idaho especially if you run into Officer Grinch

I'm thinking about putting a wreath on the TJ today if I decide to go out at all that is.
