Dog Harness System (INEXPENSIVE)

Thought I'd sare a DIY dog harness system I built for my Wrangler that cost me less than $40 for everything.

The system has climbing rope (camo colored) secured by carabiner clips and green bungee cords for extra tension and reassurance.

Tied at thirds the distance across the rope are knots to keep my husky from sticking too far out the side/back windows

Hanging from the center is a double sided clip that rotates 360 degrees so he does not get tangled up and can turn around easily.

He seems to love it and makes my life a lot easier with hair clean up and put my mind at ease when I am driving.

Thought I'd share for those who are interested in something similar!!

Cool solution. i just use an adjustable harness that plugs into the belt buckle.

Nice! I may have to do something like that for my beast dog...
Do you use a top buckle harness or a front buckle harness? My dog does OK on a leash, but I've found I really need the front attachment to control her.

I actually use a top buckle harness so he doesn't have the chance to be flipped over and doesn't get in his way. I only use the harness in the Jeep! The knots in the rope keep him from going too far out the window and only lets him stick his head out.

We had a really bad accident last year, totaled our LJ, and our Border Collie was thrown from the Jeep. If she'd been restrained it would have most likely killed her. My wife and I had on seat belts and were both life flighted, the dog walked away unharmed. Lucky? maybe but I'll never restrain her.
