Dont know what to do...

My wife thinks the "wave" to other Jeep owners is stupid... She just doesn't get it... I may have to divorce her...

Funny. My wife cracks jokes on me all the time. She said she is gonna start waving at every Honda pilot that she comes across. I told her that they would just think she was a Jeeper that forgot she wasnt in a jeep.

My boyfriend teases me all the time. He mocks me when I get ignored. And he jokingly waves at other Pathfinder drivers and confuses the hell out of them.

I wave to Wranglers in my work truck, only some wave back, but it's alright, I'm waving to the jeep itself anyway.

I used to tease my husband all the time. He's a volunteer firefighter and they all wave at each other. In addition to all police/sheriffs. Or anyone with a light on the top of their truck...

And then I got my Wrangler.... Oh....I SO get it now!! It is so much fun. Maybe let her take your Jeep with the top off and see how many waves she gets. I bet not all of them come from people in Wranglers . She will love it!!

My wife asks me why I don't wave to the parked Jeeps with nobody in them...

Yeah... I'm a cop. I catch myself waving at fire and police in my Jeep and Jeeps when I'm on duty.

My only rule for my wife when she takes my Jeep is she has to jeep wave! She loves it and tells me how many she gets in return each time.

I'm in central Ohio and I probably get the wave returned 20% of the time. I don't think anyone here knows the rule!

So am I, but I get the wave about 70% of the time...as long as I am not near Ohio State and "suburban" areas! College kids and suburban moms rarely wave. I've had 3 JKs since 2008 and the waves have continued!

There are a heck of a lot of jeeps in the Austin area and I'm surprised how few drivers wave.
Years ago when I had my 2 door Wrangler in Dallas it seems like everyone waved.

What do firefighters and cops have in common? They both want to be firefighters

I sometimes catch myself waving at the empty ones too, usually I just nod at them and tell them they are looking good.

The rule? I never understood the people who seem to think the wave should be included in the owner's manual. Do you think they have a secret handshake with other people who wear the same underwear?

I'll initiate a wave and return a wave under certain conditions. If I see a stock Jeep that doesn't look brand new, there's a good chance they got the jeep because it's a trendy thing to do and they can't relate to the fun of taking the Jeep off the pavement. I'll return a wave but I won't usually bother to initiate one.

My Jeep is my DD. There are plenty of times when I'll be thinking about a few things while I'm driving and I'm not paying attention to the vehicles driving the other way. I wonder how many of them have been Jeeps who have waved the gotten upset because I didn't follow "the rules" and wave back?

Honestly... I've been taking notice who doesn't wave... And 90% of the time (around here) it's been middle aged women in JKU's with hardtops. Almost all of the 2 dr Jeeps either initiate the wave or respond to it.

Back in the mid 90's I had a college roommate who had a Sahara, and I couldn't get over how many other Jeep owners in Kent, OH, would wave back to him. In '97 I had to buy a Wrangler to join Jeep Nation--and no, soccer moms in JKU's never wave...

Im confused, why isnt a used stock jeep capable of going off road? Is the wave specific to off road warriors?

I pass at least 6 jeeps everyday on my way to work. NONE of the JK drivers wave back. 75% of the TJ guys do. Women in either... Never. Sooo, I still wave to my TJ brethren and refuse to wave to a JK.

If you want to start bad-mouthing women, stock Jeeps, and JKs in terms of waving, please use the official wave thread.

Tell her that it's either waving at Jeeps or flipping off every other car. I bet she picks the wave.

I only wave when wheeling, then I wave at everyone. I have yet to see any jeep drivers wave here.. I think though that most are mall crawlers anyway.

Consider yourself lucky!

In my experience it sort of goes in waves. There are times when a lot of Jeepers wave and others when they don't. It's usually the unmodded JKUs that don't wave. Also women seldom wave generally here. Maybe they are afraid of sending the wrong message?

In any event consider yourself lucky. My Uptown Girl hates my Jeep and lets me know every time she rides in it. So if the only problem is that she won't wave consider yourself blessed.

Nobody is bad mouthing women, stock Jeeps, or JKs. People are simply relating their experiences.
