Angry Don't you hate it when...

... you are given an unrealistic timeframe?

Just a rant:

I entrusted a local shop to color match some mounting brackets for an LED light bar. The guy ensured me he'd have it done that weekend (he received it last Thursday). It's now nearly a week later and it's still not ready. Heck, I don't know if it's even painted yet. I haven't received ANY kind of status.

If you're busy so say. Don't lead me to believe you'll have something done and then fall back on your word and continue to give me the run around. It's unprofessional. Just be honest and give me a REAL timeframe so I can plan accordingly. I wanted this ready before the weekend and now it's going to be impossible. How long does it really take to prepare, paint, and dry a set of mounting brackets???

How many times has a shop given you a unrealistic timeframe?

That's exactly the problem. It's a small fast job so much can they charge you as opposed to a larger more lucrative job.

Small shops of any kind and contractors are notorious for forecasting poorly. Many of them are craftsman that do great work but have poor business skills.

I could have them painted , dried and ready to mount while you wait. 45 minutes, an hour tops.

I feel for ya. If it were me I would take my business elsewhere.

I went to this guy based off a recommendation of another. Believe me I won't be going there or recommending the place ever again.
