?? Door Hinges

Maybe someone can clear this up for me. I bought a set of 1/2 steel doors, the owner claimed they were off a 91 YJ.
I ordered replacement mirrors from Quadratec for a 88 - 02 YJ.
The bolt holes do not line up. The bolt holes on the door from front hole to rear hole are aprox 2 1/4" apart. The holes on the replacement mirrors are like about 1 1/2" apart.
Is it possible that these doors are off a CJ?
I'm really confused, any help??
I hope that my explanation of the prob is clear enough to understand...

The 02 was a TJ, 96 was the last YJ.

There is no such thing as a 1996 Wrangler.

True, but the wranglers sold in 96 (just 95's they had left over) were the last YJ's sold, thus 96 was the last year for the YJ's.

Oh, and op, I own a TJ, and am fairly new to jeeps, so I won't be much help with your door issue. I'm sure pics would help others who are more experienced help you out. Good luck.

But still they were 95 models, thus 95 was the last year for YJs. You go by the actual model year, not the calender year in which they were sold.

Your profile says your Jeep is a 2005. No, YJ doors from 91 will not fit. I think you looked at Quadratec wrong. YJs were 88-95. Doors from any of those years will not work for you. You need doors from 97-06. Seems to me the guy who sold you those doors screwed you if he knew you have a TJ....

My mistake, brain freeze. I was trying to put the bottom hinge on the top of the door. Felt like an idiot when I realized it. Right after I posted I realized my mistake.
Actually the doors from the 91 do fit. Had to make some minor mods. I fabricated a new door striker and had to trim the inside door handles. The 91 handles are up close to the dash, the 05 are further back. Nothing a dremel cutting wheel couldn't fix.
I got the doors for a great price couldn't pass them up.
