Driving long distance topless

Am I going to hate myself if I take a 6 hour drive (Wichita Falls, TX to Houston) on the highway without my top on? I don't know why I would, but I'd rather check with the experts then get going and ask myself what the hell I was thinking.

I guess I'm just wanting opinions. . . I will be leaving my doors on because trying to keep my Jeep on the road while drivin' 75 wears me the F out.

Hopefully this doesn't get nominated for the dumbest newbie question of the year award or anything. . .

I looked and can't find anything. . . So either it's a dumb question or a dumb idea. I'm not sure! Thanks y'all!

everyone is different, i don't mind highway speeds with my doors and top off but I rarely go pass 65 in my TJ, keep your doors on and when you get to Houston just take them back off, this is in case it rains you won't be stuck without doors and you know how the weather man is never right when he predicts rain in Texas

I think the noise/buffeting are going to wear you out. Its just too noisy for that amount of time on the highway. Unless the scenery is incredible, I say pop the top when you get to your destination (or at least have your windows with you if you decide to try it topless anyway).

Gina, you leaving Sheppard? Also top off at freeway speed isn't bad at all wear sunscreen and enjoy. I take mine off but leave ac running I know it sounds silly but it keeps it comfortable. Let me know if you want to ride around if time permits.

2 hours is pretty much my limit on the highway topless. The spider shade does kill most of the buffeting, but it's more the noise that gets to me.

6 hours - wouldn't do it. But, I have a soft top, so it's easy to drop at the destination.

Whether you have the soft top UP or DOWN, you do need to wear ear plugs for other than a short trip.

After 18 years of driving topless, I developed a ringing in my ears which never stopped. I was diagnosed with tinnitus caused by cumulative nerve damage. Now I have a hardtop-only Jeep.

To minimize the noise with the top up, run the fan at setting 2 or 3 to puff the top out. But still, for any longer trips, you and all passengers need earplugs. Especially children.
