I live in Indianapolis, drive a stock 2011 JK and have about a 70% return rate on the wave. Makes my drive to work more fun as I look for Wranglers in route.

to all the JK's out there...I'm still waving at ya...no less love intended, it is still a really great thing to have a Wrangler, I agree! And you can actually fit more family/friends/dogs in your rides so I'm kinda jealous...and when you shop you don't suddenly think "where the heck am I gonna put all this stuff? S'all goooood! Just spread the love!

Anyway, I wave at every Jeep that drives by. I have never had a wave back. Ever. Maybe it's a Canada thing that no one knows about up here? Or maybe it's because I'm in a stock JK. Too bad if you have a JK your so looked down upon on this site. I think just having a Wrangler of any kind is awesome. If they made brand new TJ's, then I would have bought one of those. But they only make brand new JK's as far as I could see. But I'll keep waving.
You're never "uncool" as long as you wave and wave back. All of our Jeeps were unmodified at one point. We all go through that stage. I know quite a few Canadian Jeepers and they are some of the most fun people I know. In fact, I'm a little jealous of them cuz they have more places to have fun with their Jeeps than we have. If people don't wave back, that's their problem, not yours.

I agree I own a 1992 Wrangler YJ and alot of Jeepers in my city Lancaster City Pa. although we are surrounded by great country side all around. I get dist i guess because Im driving a near antique. I love thew idea of my '92 soon being an antique in Jan 2012. But alot of Jeepers just dont have it in them to throwout a wave to me on the road. Bummer but Ive been jeepin since I was seventeen years young. In the Arizona desert of all wonderful places. So wave on peeps as I do no matter what!

Maybe it is a Friday thing, three Wranglers sans Doors and Top three waves. As for "stock" doesn't matter much to me the Wrangler is a capable vehicle on its own.

I took the tops off for the first time today. I waved like a mad man. After getting not a single wave back I started to realize that most of the jeep owners in this town are over the age of 65. I think they just can't see people waving. I guess that's what I get for living in a retirement community.

I do the something similar, except not on a harley...ha. When I'm driving my wife's F150 I'll continue to wave at Jeeps and get an akward stare, then get one from my wife...its become second nature to wave at Jeeps.

By the way, got 2 TJ waves today and ZERO JKs (I even waved at 2 jacked and wheeled JKs and notta). wth?

Like I said.... The demise of the jeep wave was 2 wheel drive JK's. Barbie is buying them, driving them back and forth from the mall! Yuppies buy them, jack them up 2 inches, buy 4-33" inch bfg's and fancy rims (except for the spare which is the factory rim and wheel, with that cheesy happy face cover) and drive with their heads up their butts 2 weeks ago I was jeepin at San Luis pass in Galveston and there was this dweeb in docker shorts and a sun visor, stuck in the sand in a rubi jk I asked him if he needed help and he was pilling the emergency brake lever trying to get his jeep in 4wd!!!!!!!

I know there are a lot of people out there that don't get it - don't understand the whole "Jeep Thing". But, we are the people that need to educate them. We need to help them understand.

So, yeah, it is fun to make fun of Barbie and the dweeb in docker shorts, but our goal should be to make the dweebs, the Yuppies and whoever doesn't quite get it, understand.

One of the things that I did, was I created the Jeep Wave iPhone App. It has been around for about a year or so and has had many people download it. I removed the ads from the App, so now it is completely free. What? how can that be? Now you can enjoy the App as it fills the whole screen without any advertisements at all. It is available now on the iTunes store - Jeep Wave iPhone App.

In the Jeep Wave App, we have a place to rank your jeep and see where you stack up in the Jeep Wave hierarchy. That way you know when you are supposed to wave first and when someone else is supposed to wave to you first. We also have a fun little wave game that you can compete (in a friendly way, of course) with your Jeep driving friends. It uses Game Center, so you can see how your waving compares to people around the world.

So, this is where you, the Jeep Community, come in. I would like to make the Jeep Wave App more fun and more educational. Then I would like to see everyone try it out and let new Jeep owners that if they don't understand, then they can go look at the Jeep Wave App and get a better idea of what it means to own a Jeep. We want all the Jeep owners out there to wave - whether they have a old Willys jeep or the latest and greatest - stock, or modded, clean or muddy, even if their jeep is pink with neon and hydraulics (even if we think that is just wrong). We want them to understand that they are part of a group of fun and accepting people and we want them to join in with us.

Remember that we want to make this app better for you (and for me personally) so that it is fun and can help others become more aware of the great Jeep community. If you have some ideas that you would like to see incorporated, please head over to our the Jeep Wave support page and let us know.

Don't forget to wave,
John

As far as I'm concerned if you have a wrangler you're a jeeper. It doesn't matter what year, what letters ur rockin', ur a jeeper. You have ur own reason for owning one. I think it's stupid when certain "jeepers" say they'll only wave to cjs, yjs or tjs blah blah blah. U have a TJ I have a JK and I wave-don't give a $hit what year the Wrangler is. I'm no "barbie" or "yuppie" as someone in an earlier post stupidly said. Ugh. This subject has gotten so lame. If u wanna wave, wave bcz ur proud to be a jeeper and ur happy to see another jeeper, if u don't wanna wave bcz of whatever reason then don't. I don't take it personal when I get no waves if I wave, but it sure is cool when I get one back. I just think it's dumb that some people are So picky about which jeeps they wave to. I'll keep the wave going, but I'm kind of over this subject.

My reason for owning a Jeep is the legendary reputation, before my Jeep I have a Chevy S-10 Blazer with a solid rear axle, ( former military vehicle, and a vacuum locker in front with a 4.3L engine and a 350 Turbo transmission. Now I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler, with a 2.5L engine open differentials and a automatic transmission, so far the only thing the old Military S-10 can do the jeep can't is jump off the line at a red light and outrun a Nissan maxima. I wave at every Jeep I see, Wrangler Renegade CJ YJ TJ JK LJ MB Willis I don't care, A Jeep is a Jeep. Mien does what I want to do which is drive to work daily, no matter if the road is there or not, and play on weekends when I can afford it, I don;t do the " hard core" railroading, I'm not scared to I'll go anywhere anybody else can go, I just might need a tow back but I ain't scared to try, I've had mine buried up to the windshield before. Its stock height and it is my favorite vehicle I have ever owned or driven, and trust me, they ain;t made a vehicle yet I can't drive.
but if I have a choice, I'll take a Jeep, any Jeep. I love them so much I replaced a perfectly pos Chevy Malibu with a 2011 Liberty for the wife.

On the other side of a four lane I got the wave back. The dude in another TJ with tires and some kind of lift was looking my way. You know when you'll get the wave, when another Jeeper is looking at a another Jeep.

Probably had a Harley too. Its tough to not to wave to a Jeep from a Harley, or to a Harley from a Jeep...... or maybe I'm just getting old and can't remember what I'm driving / riding. I guess there are worse things.

Did anyone wave to an LJ driven by a lady with Texas plates in the last two weeks? It's the Jeep in my avatar, silver with black top. I was in AR, TN, KY, OH, and then came back through KY, TN, AL, MS, LA, and back into TX. I'm wondering if there is a guy here with a manual Wrangler whom I talked to at a light in Delaware, OH before I turned into the Carriage Towne dealership to pick up a part.
