I hate to agree but its every 4 door here- not once have I received a wave back from them, they also always seem to have their nose in the air. I almost bought a 4 door, glad I didn't now.

When I had my pathfinder, a 4 door went wheelin with us, he recorded most of the trip and trash talked every vehicle there including an older 2 door wrangler. My STOCK pathfinder did everything his modified jeep could and so could every other vehicle there, he was a jerk.

Anyone piloting a 4-door Jeep has an attitude? You folks are painting with a pretty broad brush, ain't cha?

When I'm staring out the windshield of the 4-door Jeep in my driveway, and I see a seven-slotted grill coming at me...I wave.

I have to agree...saying it's EVERY 4 door driver is a little harsh. A true Jeeper is still a Jeeper, no matter what they drive. Don't let the actual jerks ruin it everyone

Yeah, we drive a 4 door Sahara Unlimited, we wave. But a few times we just got the evil eye, so we just wave when the other one does.

I have to say that its not all 4 doors. I actually have gotten a wave or two from them. Even chatted on the cb with one. However the waves are few and far between.

Yeah buddy!!! its a good feelin huh!

And dont misunderstand me. I have gotten waves from 4 doors. But MAJORITY of the 4 door drivers were I live [Long Island NEw York] Just bought the 4 door cause their kids wanted it even though they wanted to buy that Aston Martin over there. They all seem to have some sort of stick up there butt, and its not from offroading. I have actually had 4 doors pull up next to me and say things like "Nice jeep, must be older than you!" and "Lets race, I'll stay in 1st and still smoke you!" just being all around jerks. The truth of the matter is, my jeep will pull crawl over things that their 4 door will get hung up on. I honestly dont care. I'll just keep waving to my YJ and TJ and CJ brothers, those 4 door JK people can all go and drive on the street some more for all I care.

This is very funny….I just picked up my ‘12 JKU Sahara last Saturday and I’ve been very disappointed with the lack of waves returned. It’s actually become a running joke with the friends and family because my “Wave Score” is currently 2 returned : 14 ignored. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? Should I give up? I live in Staten Island NY where people generally drive with tunnel vision…

Here in WV, I have never recieved a wave from ANY Jeep at any time. I have had a TJ and now a JK, and I wave at every Jeep. People must think I'm crazy because they obvioulsy do not know the rules, lol..

Hello. New to Wranglers. Just picked up a used 2002 Sahara about a month ago. I researched Wranglers before buying, and for some reason I fell in love with the combined uniqueness and functionality. After checking out a few alternatives I chose this preloaded gem with only 85k miles and I love her. Came with the skyjacker lift and both hard and soft tops and I believe fatty iON wheels.

I'm not extremely mechanical but I can do basic stuff. My first project is to replace the stock sound with some new stuff. I've already got some of the toys, and going through crutchfield, who is awesome; if anyone has other sites to share or a link to another discussion please post. I've been all over the Quadratec site as well, I'm considering grill and light protectors as my next small project.

Somehow I was unaware of the Wrangler subculture but I'm glad I found this site. I'm a New England guy my whole life and looking forward to my first snow storm and some summer trail running. Meanwhile I'm waving at people way more than I ever have before. Good times.

Great. That explains why I got a couple of Jeep waves when I was test-driving a sweet JKU Arctic Winter Chill a couple of weeks ago. Either that, or it was because I was dragging behind me the salesman who had been trying to put the tag on when I left the dealership. Maybe people were concerned for the salesman. Nah. Had to have been the Jeep wave.

Two outta three for me today. Not bad for me. I'm the opposite...I'm in a four door, I'm a woman/married, mother of one and I send the wave out way more than I get. It gets old not getting the waves back but I'll still wave.

You know, people don't HAVE to know about the wave. It should just be common courtesy, just tonight, I waved (from the passenger seat) at two jeeps. It was night so I had no way of knowing they saw me, but we have a stock 09' JKU Sahara 4door and we still wave!!! Hope to see some waves in the day though, we're toting out to a place called Rio Puerco, check it out on youtube, amazing video. We do things that would blow...your...mind(not on youtube hope to be though).

Wow! It never occurred me that if I forget to wave during morning hours when I'm still half in sleep mode, then someone in a 2 door Jeep might think I have some uppity complex towards them. Waving must have been an exotic thing back in the days when only two families owned Wranglers per county, but with production volumes over 100k per year this will become a serious issue... wavers vs non-wavers

I remember when I got my first Jeep 20 years ago. Was driving down the road with my dad and noticed all the other Jeeps waving. The wave is still alive in Central Jersey.

My first month I'd say roughly 50% wave. Despite other's comments I can say not much difference between 2dr, 4dr, lift, etc.

On my first day with the jeep I was waved at twice and was confused - so I was the asshole. I'm in the flow now. Someone else commented "it's not a wave, more of a hand above the steering wheel" kind of thing. That's what I do now. I will also admit I'm not always paying attention to cars on the other side of the road, just the ones in front of me... Knowing how I am I don't take a non-wave as a sign of disrespect or whatever. Sometimes all of us, jeeps or not, are in our own world.

That is a point jesscarp, its that we don't see the other side of the road because we are trying to be safe. And you know, I'd rather to not be waved at than seeing a perfectly good jeep being destroyed or other cars destroyed.

Exactly. I'm sad to say I've been in some accidents and don't want any more, especially not with my jeep. I also generally have driven sporty cars which has led to a few speeding tickets and having my license suspended a couple times. The jeep purchase was a conscious decision to slow myself down... But still have fun.

I like reading this community and seeing how much everyone enjoys their jeep.

"The Jeep Wave"...... who knew? Bought my 01 Wrangler back in March and immediately was getting all kinds of waves from other jeeps. My 2 sons in college when home on the weekends even started calling it "The Jeep Wave", when meeting other jeeps on the road the 20 year old is sitting over there laughing saying "here it comes Dad, wait for it, wait for it, there it is! I wave at all of them and the only time I remember getting snubbed was by a 4 door. Hmmmm.... I'm in rural Iowa so most people wave anyway so here's one for the ones that don't get one often.

Love this website, just found it a couple of weeks ago. I'm not much of a mechanic but I learned enough the 1st week to change out an O2 sensor, piece of cake with a little knowledge. Not much for offroading around here, about all I get to do is take it out to the family farm and play in the waterways.

I just moved to the Houston area, and have not gotten 1 wave back in a whole month from 4 doors, 2 doors, jk's, tj, yjs, or anyone in either my 2 door tj or 2 door jk. Don't know what it is with people around here.
