Oh come on up to my neck of the woods - this gal will wave at ya! I know what ya mean though, I get waveless Jeep drivers all the time. In the summer when there's enough daylight to actually see I'm practically hanging halfway out my Jeep.

I have tendency to want to wave even if I just pick up on the Jeep headlights - Wrangler or not!

Good thing he got rid of it.

The dying wave

I've noticed not many jeepers wave any more too. When I had my first jeep, around 1995, jeepers used to wave all the time. Now, a lot of jeepers don't wave and I have found more men than women wave. Let's bring the wave back!

From what I've seen in the short while I've had my jeep, the older the jeep the more likely you are to get a wave or wave back...by the way I wave at all Jeeps :wave

One thing I do have to say...and I'm not being a woman-hater as I myself am a woman: I've noticed that 98% of the jeepers that don't wave back are women. Why is that? Do they not know?

I'm a woman and I wave at just about every wrangler. The only exception is If I see that they aren't looking. But I just think a lot of the jeep owners now a days are just clueless. Idk. I find myself "looking" for wranglers while I'm out and about. Lol

I know, lol, I do the same thing. I have to park next to them as well, and if there's not a spot next to them I get all mad, lol! Maybe the novelty will wear off or something. I don't know though...I'm loving my jeep more every day. My husband is getting more jealous every day to the point of resentment because his vehicle isn't remotely cool compared to mine. However, everyone assumes it's his anyway so he gets the last laugh.

I too am a woman and have noticed the same thing. I guess we are part of a lucky few that can truly enjoy the full "JEEP" experience! I count myself lucky every time I even look at my Jeep n blessed every time I drive it!

I have to say that the first wave I ever received was from a woman. Only had one other since that time and it was a half-hearted steering wheel finger lift without even looking...lol.

Wish someone had told me yellow attracts school buses, they wave at me too!

I had been wanting a Jeep for a long time and I finally got one in August. I noticed it right away and my hubby thought I was nuts and I looked at him and replied "Its a Jeep thing hun you wouldnt understand"!!! I let him drive it to town one day and he came home and said he was sitting in it at Sonic and some random guy walked up and admired it and told him it was nice and he must have alot of money tied up in it and he just looked at him like a crazy person!! I think I have finally made him understand!! HEHE

Talking

THE WAVE!!!!! SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS THREAD being brought up. The g/f laughs at me all the time, and my response is "It's a Jeep thing" she always laughs. But I love it.
THE REAL WAVE: Both topless, doorless, dirty, lifted, anything that says FREEDOM!!!! I get attention from everyone after I go MUDDING.
HAPPY JEEPIN EVERYONE
BEST WAY TO PASS IT ON IS TO ALWAYS DO THE WAVE.........

I must not be doing something right or Michigan Jeep owners just don't get it. I've waved to maybe a dozen lifted or at least modified Jeep owners (I've only owned my TJ for less than a week and there are way to many stock Jeeps up here in Michigan to wave to) and

a. they ignore me and don't wave or
b. they give me dirty looks (... only had one do this, but he was in a new 2 door Rubi and gave me the worst dirty look I've ever seen)

I come from the Subaru world and 99.9% of owners who drive modified Subaru's either

a. wave or
b. throw the shocker up

My co-worker/good friend and past Jeep owner was actually quite surprised and floored that not even a modified Jeep owner will wave back...

Hum... hope my luck turns around here soon...

I always wave at fellow JKs when I see them. Most women do not wave back it seems. Also it seems like the four door crowd does not wave as much. I'm in Twin Cities area of MN.

I've noticed that the further you get out into the sticks, the more likely another Wrangler driver is likely to wave.

Well, it's not a wave, exactly. It's winter, so we do the finger lift off the steering wheel -- 2 fingers if we're not sure you'll wave back, 4 fingers if we think you will.

All in all, I'd say about half the drivers of older models wave back, and about 1/2 newer JK drivers. JKU drivers, probably 1/3 respond. Could be better, but it's neat when it happens.
