I recently bought a 2012 JKU and LOVE it! I got my first "Jeep wave" that afternoon. I was so excited about it, I called up my hubby, and now the kids are actively looking for Jeeps to wave to.

What's with the snarkiness, anyway? Just because I'm that "trendy Soccer Mom with the kids in the back" doesn't mean I don't love my Jeep for what it is, and not just another SU.

Welcome to the club! You've got the right attitude. Anyone who doesn't wave back at you and your kids is a straight-up dumbass!

Could ya just do all of us Unlimited fans a favor and keep the magnetic soccerballs and "stick figure family" stickers off it?

haha! no "stick figure family" stickers here - didn't even have those on my minivan - but my magnetic "Pay It Forward" might get moved off the garage fridge back to the jeep. Maybe.

I like the "**** Your Stick Figure Family" stickers with the stick figure guy chasing after the stick figure "family" with a chainsaw.

to me, a wrangler is a wrangler. I dont even have time to notice what mods a jeep might have or what year the jeep may have been built when Im driving by another wrangler. The supposed "hierachy" or ranking is funny, but really, it mentions first aid kits and fire extinguishers for Pete's sake. Its not intended to be taken seriously! "hold on sir, i have a fire extinguisher under my rear seat and have recently installed new skid plates. Additinally, you failed to notice that i have mud on my rear tires. Therefore you are required to wave to me first until I am out of sight! This is a clear violation of the super official jeep rankings and you will be reported to the HIGHEST authorities on the wrangler forums immediately."

Its supposed to be a "jeep thing", and to me that says, and throw out a wave and a smile when you see other wrangler owners having fun in their vehicle, just like you do.

My thoughts exactly. If I wanted to flaunt my superiority, I'd just show up at an H3 convention.

Nuttin wrong with Soccer Moms at all. You are probably just in the 1% who "gets" what owning a Jeep means.

And I am partial to the Zombie stick figures myself... Of course all mine would be animals.

I was raised as a young boy riding around with my grandfather in his old truck. He was in law enforcement and waved at everybody and everybody waved back at him. I still wave at people going down the road and my wife always says "why are you waving at these people?" Now that I have the Jeep I always go out of my way to wave at other jeeps but as others have mentioned here, only part time do I get a wave back.

Wave at all Jeeps...it's just nice, if they reciprocate, great...if not, they'll get it eventually.

I also have an '88 911 where we have something similar - except it's flash of the lights to another vintage Porsche, they always flash back (if not flashing first!) but the newer Porsches' seldom flash, ahh well they'll get it too some day.

And dare I say it...but I also have a Hummer H2 (Please no hate mail! ), I ALWAYS get a wave in the Hummer from other Hummer drivers...must be because it is a much smaller group...who knows.

In any case, a wave always makes me smile and makes the day better, hopefully the recipient of my waves feel the same way....why not do it, after all....it's costs nothing and brightens up someone day!

Just my 2 cents....

I'm at about 50% wave success with JK owners. We're pretty good about waving here in Kentucky anyway, Jeep or not.

I wave at all Jeeps, and don't worry if they fail to wave back. I did my part. I even catch myself waving at Jeeps driving down my street while I'm cruising the front yard on my riding mower. Most wave back.

Had THREE Jeeps pass me on the interstate today...not a single wave from any of them or any acknowledgement whatsoever. Then again, they had tons of mods such as teenie lifts and black wheels, which automatically render me worthless according to "the rules."

Got waves back from two JKs passing in the opposite direction. Sorry, I ain't lifting a finger for anything but JKs. Screw the previous generation owners and their elitist attitudes towards JKs.

The kids and I waved to about 8 or 9 wranglers yesterday and only about 2 or 3 waved back. I guess I'm just not enough in my stock JKU.

Oh well, I'm gonna anyway.

Well, ya screwed up not once, not twice, but THREE times. First, you bought a JK, secondly, you bought a 4dr, and thirdly, it's stock. Given your multiple violations, I wouldn't wave to you either.

They were probably so surprised that a JK owner was waving that they didn't know what to do.

Take heart, not all Wrangler drivers wave to me either...the biggest wave I ever got was from a JK driver who was practically hanging out his doorless JK.

That was cool!

If you were DeweysDad, he probably wouldn't have waved to you.

I always wave. Most of the time I get a wave back. Once in a while I get a "peace".

I give a index finger and thumb wave with my left hand. To the oncoming jeep it's a J.

Wow-maybe it is a southern thing but I am in a Stock JK, and I usually have my kids with me, and I get a return wave of some kind at least 75% of the time. I remember the first day I had it, I was so excited to own one that I did what I refer to as the "day pass" wave, ie I put so much energy into it and smiled so big that I have no doubt I looked like I was out on a day pass. But now, I love doing the peace sign wave, and getting one in return. No Mods yet-so many I want but we just bought a boat and the hubby had to get all his "toys" first. I had no idea there was a "mod hierarchy". learn something new every day.

Me, too. I got an awesome wave from a modded up TJ yesterday...and he waved first.

Glad to see he wasn't one of the ones with the elitist attitudes who aren't even worthy of as much as a glance.

The day my wife brought home our jeep (it was a surprise for me, I know, great wife) she thought the kid she bought it off was very popular because a lot of people were waving to her. When she thought about it afterwards, it was jeep wranglers waving to her.
