It must be about the really modded up Jeeps not going
offroad then because I just can't imagine a 'True Jeeper' talking down to any other Jeeper.

It doesn't matter whether it's bone-stock, been modded or goes off-road. The wave is a unique and fun element of Jeep ownership. It ties us together with a common interest.

But you can clearly see on this forum that there's a battle underway to keep it. My two cents.
I guess that means I just lost my 'AAA' status.

Nah, you're good, as long as you wave back. Or at least give it the two-finger lift off the steering wheel, and a slight head bob. S'all good!

I bow to you. I have nothing to compete with that other than the bird that hit and destroyed my driver side mirror a couple of years ago , but I was driving my explorer so I don't think it counts here :/

America wants to know: Did the dog poo make it onto the floormat, and is it still there?

If not... meh. Not so much.

But if so, crusty poo on the floormat is the ultimate Jeep accessory, so I salute you, sir.

Bonus: With visible crusty poo on the floormat, you can do almost anything you want in front of your passengers and blame it on the poo! The perfect crime. It's better than having a dog in the car with you.

Coming soon: MOPAR official Jeep Crusty Poo, impregnated with Everstink by Gucci. Available at your local MOPAR parts counter for $39.99 plus shipping. Available soon from Quadratec for $179.99. Plus shipping.

Ha! Hilarious posts.... thanks for the laugh.

When passing a pussy Jeep (Swiss bankers... I'm in Zürich... in their Mall Crawlers... you know who you are) I'll give a nod and maybe a smile. Maybe. The other day I passed a guy in a Patriot who had a "AAA" sticker on his bumper. It was so embarrassing. I tried to pretend not to see him.

Now... if it's a vehicle that has some teeth and shows some love and respect, then I'll pull out a wave, flash the fog lights and get my wife to flash... if there's time. Got to drive sloooow.

I just picked-up my new Rubikon a month ago. Already got the cool tire-tread floormats.

Buying a new Jeep is like having a blank canvas on which to express your inner self. This work of art is going to take some time!

What a country!

Six million people without power in the Northeast, a presidential election in 4 days, 2 hot wars going on, and we're watching Crank Yankers in the middle of a work day!

Ha! Who sez America's lost her mojo!

Take that, Zurich! Oh wait. You have the Internet too!

Oh well, at least it's Friday night in Gnome-town! (Swiss Bankers: "It's Friday night! Drinks are on what's left of Gaddafi's oil trust!")

Lol... you're exactly right.

Thankfully, I'm Canadian, drinking a beer on the balcony and watching it all from a distance.

Just a Question how many fingers do you use to wave to JK owners? I have a four finger on the wheel wave to a JK owner and she waved back with only finger ... cross that jeep off the list for this TJ owner.

No biggie, I only wave at anything but JK owners anyway.

At least she waved back, so that's progress. Unless the one finger she used was the middle one. Then you can write her off. Can't we all just get along?

I've gotten everything from one finger (the good kind) to a full on hand out the window wave. For me as long as I'm being acknowledged is good enough for me even if it's the middle finger.

I was being facetious, I own a JK.

To answer the question, NO, we can't all get along. Apparently everyone thinks a wave entails leaning with his/her head out the window like a dog and waving like a madman/madwoman. A lift of a finger apparently isn't efficient enough for some people.

I hurt a lot of feelings. I give the "two-finger lift" off the steering wheel. I don't get all stupid about the wave. I don't wave first to anyone but JK owners first because they are the ones who reciprocate. The others can wave to me first or we just drive by each other with no acknowledgement whatsoever. Two can play the "Too Cool For You" game.

Really? She waved back... Maybe she has an issue with her other fingers or she doesn't like to lift her whole hand off the wheel.

You're being overly picky like you're trying to find excuses to not wave to JKs.

I'd like to add a new category- "Suburban Stockers" to connote people who have Jeeps as fashion accessories to their lifestyle. These are the folks who don't usually wave and aren't into "Jeeping." I'm not knocking them, but it seems the wave is diminishing. It used to be the thing for BMW owners to flash their lights, but now there are so many Bimmers out there that nobody does it anymore. Hopefully the growing popularity of Jeeps (thank you Chrysler for making them more "civilized" ) won't kill the sense of community.

The problem here in the PNW is that it is so dark and rainy much of the year that you can't see through the other Jeep's windshield to tell if someone is finger waving or not.

Id love to see some sort of heat map which breaks down which areas of the country have the most "wavers" vs "non-wavers" as wrangler owners.

Im going out on a limb here when I say, I think I live in a non-waving region. Friggin Long Island. We INVENTED the mall crawler. Before us, people just crawled.
