(I think this should go here)

I'm sure all of you have noticed the lack of "the wave" from many new JK owners, (not saying that all JK owners are like that, just the majority)

So I ask of you If you happen to be passing a Dealership and you happen to have time stop in and talk to the sales associates and explain "The Jeep Wave" to them and ask for them to pass on the wave to all new owners of Jeeps.

The first time out in my Jeep, I received waves from a couple people. At first I thought something was wrong but I caught on quick. When my teenager rode with me the first time, he questioned why we waved at each other. I told him I belonged to the secret society of Jeeps and he wouldn't understand. I love my Jeep.

I didn't read all these post, and it might have been covered already in 36 pages of responses, but the lack of waves has been going on forever. I think it comes from the newer models not being considered 'real' Jeeps, too cushie. Square lights, plastic dashboards, longer wheel bases and axles and to top it off, sat lower. Then the Cherokee. That grocery getter didn't have a frame! What the h•ll is a uniframe? And so on. Now, they are almost the size of Hummers! I think the wave evolves with the willingness of the Jeeps owner with how willing they are to chance beating it up.
I don't think you are going to get the people whose main concern when they climb in one is if the A/C and stereo work to wave.

BTW, I love running around town and climbing the rocks in my TJ with top and doors off, A/C blasting listening to the radio!

Opinions are like A-holes, and everyone's got 1. So here's mine. Are you ready? I think the whole Jeep Wave ordeal has been blown way out of proportion . Obviously I drive a 2007 jk, which by some is not considered a true jeep. Wth is that about anyway. If I see a jeep, I waive regardless. Mods, no mods... It's a freaking jeep for.crying out loud. You just come across someone that shares 1 of your very interest. A JEEP. Show a little respect. I live in a small town and there are several wranglers, cherokees. All yrs.. and I'm sure that at 1 point or another we waive at 1 another a few times a week. Regardless of the yr . Jk,cj,tj , they enjoy there JEEP just as much as everyone else. To many damn politics. That's the problem with the world to... To many nonsense dictators!!! That just my 2 cents...

I agree (I say "Opinions are like arm pits, everyone has more than one and most of them stink" Some of you might say the same of mine - lol)

Anyway . . .

I have a JKU and I wave @ any wrangler I pass and get a 75% response.

I have seen threads listing the hierarchy of who should waive first, etc. but I think that's allot of bull.

I wave @ the individual with the spirit to drive a Wrangler and enjoy what the Germans call "Farfegnugen", not sure of the spelling but it means "The Joy of Driving"

Okay, I'll step off my soap box now and give wave to you all!:flowers:

Totally agree I wave at the driver not just the jeep. To all those that get enjoyment from a Jeep, JeepVergnugen. :wavey:

I honestly don't think I enjoyed driving as much, or even held the same attitude towards driving in the past that I now have with my Jeep.

Now I don't care where or when, I'm flying!
(You're buying though, I have Jeep and gas payments to make!) ;)

Just finished a 1,200 mile trip this week and I must have waved at around 40 jeeps throughout 3 states and only got 3 waves back. Granted some maybe couldn't see me wave because of the distance between the lanes on the interstate but needless to say I was a bit disappointed being that was my first road trip in my jeep.

Now, around my town though I get lots of waves. The first weekend we had our jeep my wife asked had we joined a new club... it was awesome!

So, if you see me... expect a wave!

I agree 100%. Look, I'm a mom my Jeep is my daily driver and I love driving it, wherever it is I have to go. If I don't go to the grocery store, where the hell else am I gonna get my food?! I'm not a farmer. I hate that $hit about the "grocery-getters" blah blah blah. I'm over the politics of the wave. Those who think they are too good to wave to the JK's and the stocks get over yourselves. True jeepers accept EVERY jeep.

Well said! I love my Jeep! I use my Jeep for everything from groceries to mudding n everything in-between. Just because it's a stock JKU doesn't mean it's never been off the pavement!

Here in tennessee we have alot of jeep owners that just don't wave. I've notice that in newer model jeeps and especially 4 door Jeeps the owners just don't care. They buy it to look cool and drive the family around in. ill continue to wave at them but it is quite annoying that they never wave back

I've been noticing the same thing around the clarksville/ nashville area! Normally if i don't get a wave back (No discrimination here) it usually looks like a soccer mom in a 4 door jk talking on her cell phone. But mostly every jeep with some kind of mods on it knows "the wave." Oh well, ill keep waving, maybe theyll catch on :thumb:. I even find myself waving when im driving my moms car when she's tired or im running to the store for her and i get really wierd looks in a toyota rav 4!

I agree. I'm in western nc and I wave to all wranglers, 2 or 4 door and never get waves back except for maybe on my college campus but I've noticed the 4 doors don't even acknowledge anyone.

Bought my 2003 Jeep TJ about a week ago and I got a wave on the way home from the dealership. Lots of Jeeps in my area to wave to and I think 85% of them wave back, all years too. My attitude is it isn't about whether or not they wave back, it's about the wave!!! True, at first it is frustrating to be ignored, but you gotta think that maybe they aren't paying attention. If we keep acknowledging the other Jeepers, hopefully they will get it. On the drive home yesterday, I must have waved at a dozen other Jeeps, YJ's, JK's, TJ's and a CJ and every one of them waved back! Sweet! I'll keep throwing it up there and if I am the last one to do it so be it!! Driving a Jeep is about positivity not negativity. We could always chase them down, follow them home and knock on their door and wave to them when they open it up!!!
