End of the Florida dry season

We havn't had rain here to speak of all summer. Bought the Jeep over the weekend, and it started raining when I was signing the papers. Still hasn't stopped! I wish I had got it first of the year, my yard would look better, and I would have saved several hundred bucks in gas.

I throw on the strapless bikini top and roll this kind of weather. Just carry a squeege for the INSIDE of the windshield. P.S. Have you pulled your drain plugs yet?

Drain plugs? Uh, guess not. You mean in the floor I guess, right?

Yes, the drain plugs are in the floor. Most people roll with no doors no problem in Florida. We have the discussion going on right now about that and the mirror issue also on our site. Have you seen some of the rigs rolling down here?

When I lived in Daytona, the cops told me all AI needed was rear view mirror and that side view mirrors are not required. I pulled the plugs and teh doors and never put em back on til october or Novemnber every year.

i've never had a jeep but i want one soon, just weighin my options and askin some questions first. this might be a really dumb question and i've alredy went over a bunch of threads on waterproofing and stuff but they never really answered some basic questions like, will your jeep get f'd up if it rains on it? what happens to the electronics and dashboard and what not? what if you have electric windows/locks like on the new models? do you have to be more careful?

Stock Wrangler... i had the top off during many florida afernoon thunderstorms. Never got messed up. NOt one electrical glitch. But as for the new ones with the un needed elctrical crap like windows and locks, I cant say whether they are well enough protected or not. And the only thing I would say is that aftermarket radios might not last as well as factory ones in rain. I dunno for sure.

I saw many cj's around here w/o doors and no mirros and a few TJ also w/o doors and no mirros neither. so Ithink it s no a big deal, also maybe you will get a warning first. unless you got stoped for speeding or something bad and that will lead to an other ticket but I dont think a cop will pull you over just for the mirros specially in FL.

I have heard of an occasional TJ having problems due to too much water getting into the dash area. Run with a strapless bikini if you would like some protection. Mostly major electrical problems occur when you dunk your sensors under the hood in deep water. Here is a sticky we have posted on our club site.
