Energy Suspension Trans Mount For TJ

I was looking to pick one up not sure if it would be too stiff for my 02. Whats the big difference between the red and black one????

Could you give us a link to what you're looking at? Help us help you...

Without seeing either product, I'd say to at least stay away from any that are poly. I've heard to many complain about increased vibrations because of using poly rather than rubber mounts.

I do like their TRE boots but as for their transmission mount - I was worried about the polyurethane's sensitivity to vibes. When I sheared/broke my transmission mount, I decided just to go with the OEM equivalent rubber replacement (I believe I paid $34 at O'Reillys). So far so good .

I think the color options are like their TRE boots, just aesthetics.

I did the same; I got one from advance auto for the same amount and it's held up for around 9 months now.

Mine was making a knocking noise whenever I would take off on an incline. If I would start off from a dead stop (or practically stopped) on a steep hill and give it a fair amount of gas, it would knock a few times in rapid succession. Took me while to figure out it was the transmission mount, but after I replaced it the knocking went away and it's been great ever since. I'm guessing when I put the lift on and did the temporary transfercase drop, the added strain finally broke the old original mount.

I just bought the Energy Suspension 2.1103R tranny mount. Yes, it does transmit vibes big time! Even at idle in neutral and sitting still, it rattles the whole jeep. It did improve shifting smoothness and no more knock at takeoff. I have to decide if I can live with the rattles or go buy an OEM rubber mount. But, like you, my new lift caused the mount rubber to split and it has caused other vibes from my driveshaft that I have to figure out first.

My 06 TJ had a broken stock mount when I bought it. Put on the poly mount and the whole Jeep vibrated like a mad Chihuahua! Installed a new stock mount and Voila! No vibes...smooth as a babies' butt!
