Smile engine pinging

Hello. I have had a problem with a 2010 4D with the engine pinging on a grade. I used Sunoco plus and it really did not help, however the premium did. Went to the dealeships, and only one decided to test drive the vehicle, and replace the PCM module even though there were no fault codes. I used regular, and it helped a little, but then I used plus, and there was a world of difference. Hope this helps others with the same problem.

I always laugh when people talk about pinging cuz my mom has said her jeep does it I swear it's not in capable noises for me to hear but she upgraded to 89.5 octane and it stopped doing it. Welcome to the corn belt state either way I think it's gonna take alot of spark detonation to really harm your motor. Good luck. Btw you woulda got better results with this in Jk tech.

Run some Techron through the system.
Good stuff if 89 doesn't cut it.
I've seen replacing the knock sensor mentioned also.

If your jeep doesnt run right on regular, then the gas is horrible in your area or theres something wrong with the Jeep. Shouldn't have to run a higher grade unless the engine is tuned for it.
