Engine questions

Kind of a noob question but if I upgraded to a 6 cyl from a 4 would I have to worry about the vin not matching up when I get state and emissions. And my next question was how well would I be able to jeep up in the moutians, mud and moab with the others in my 4 cyl

Everything I've ever read says it makes more sense to buy another Jeep then to swap out a 4 for a 6.

I am with daggo unless you have a decently set up garage and at that point why not go the extra distance and get an eight
If you regear your 4 banger you can get all the power you'll need just be sacrificing speed/efficency on the road. Ultimately though you will always be a step below the six, as my friend always likes to say "There's no replacement for displacement"

Not familar with vin laws and emission laws but it would make sense to me if you met the emmision requirements for the six you'd be set

Perhaps if you found gauges calibrated to the sensors the jeep is using.
