Engine will not shut down?

I installed a winch and had a fella weld on my bumper now my engine will not shut down using the key? Any ideas

Here is what we had to do apparently the voltage from the welding had disrupted the programing of the jeep. We disconnected the battery let is sit for a while then reconnected it and every thing is running as original. Whew!
