engo vs quadratec winches

I am debating between engo 9000 and a quadratec 8500 winch. Any opinions? I very highly doubt that I will ever be in serious need of a winch at all but I still would like to have one just in case. So cheap is the name of the game

I don't have either, but the engo scored very well in a head to head with several other brands.

Quadrateck winches were not out at the time of that shoot out, But in saying that, I went with engo because of that article. As much as I would have loved to sink a grand into a warn, fact is I really do not need it that much, so for the money, it was well worth it to me.

I bought a cover for it. I have used it a couple of times, and it always works well with no issues.

Good luck with your decision.

I have the Quadratec winch and love it so far. I have only used/needed it once and it performed flawlessly. If you are just the casual offroader and winching isnt needed that much the Quadratec one is good. If you wheel a bit more hardcore and winch a lot I would look into a different one.
