Engo Winch Review
Engo Winch Model
: E12000 (12,000 LB)
: 3/8 Wire rope @ 85 FT
: Standard Winch plate on stock bumper
: 4 out of 5
The winch came packed in a box with all hardware needed to mount it to the winch plate and appeared to be grade 8 I opted to use my own hardware purchased locally. I mounted the winch plate to the stock bump using stock hardware. The housing for the solenoid is soft plastic ( think tackle box ) and has a rubber gasket. I choose to mount mine under the hood as oppose to on the winch itself. The remote is basic with an in/out labeled rocker switch that is shaped like an aircraft controller. The lead for the remote is 3 prong female to 3 prong male on the solenoid box. It is shaped to only plug in one way. I moved the plugin to the interior on my Jeep. The overall quality on the winch is good although some areas IE controls, hardware, and finish leave a little to be desired. I will be replacing the wire rope with synthetic rope (personal preference)
: Price, Setup, Ease of Use, Warranty
Supplied Hardware, cheesy Plastic
For the money this winch is going to be hard to beat. Are there better winches out there? Yes, at three times the price. I had the chance to put this to the test and it worked well. Plain and simple IT WORKED.
Once upon a time I had time and money, then I bought a Jeep. Now I have no time and no money. And I lived Happily Ever After.
