Exhaust and Car audio

I'm trying to put in a new head unit for my 06 TJ but I don't know if the panel is a pop off or if its the old fashioned with the screws in the back and then it slides out.

ALso, I was wondering what exhaust system is good for the TJ. It's a 6 speed and I was wondering how the Borla, Magnaflow, and other exhausts sound and help the Wrangler for gas mileage and good sound.

thanks:

To get the head unit out you will need to remove a few screws up by the defroster, pop out the ash tray and remove the screw behind it. Then the center piece of the dash will come off, and then you will remove to screws holding the cd player in and it will slide out.

As far as exhaust goes, you will not find anything that will improve the MPG with any significance. For sound though, I am running the banks set up. I like it, but it is one the louder set ups from what I have read.

for the banks set up, is it a full system? Including both headers and then cat back or just cat back?

I am running both the headers and the cat-back but I bought them both seperately. I am not sure if they sell them as a set

From quadratec they sell them separately, but how is the sound on it. Loud, clear, and not whining? Cuz I want it to show the true power as apposed to a fake sound to it.

The cat alone sounds pretty loud. Once I added the headers I got a much throatier tone. Overall its a pretty good sound for a I6, as long as you are in the market for a louder exhaust. Some people want louder than stock but not too loud.

I just want to bring out the sound of my Jeep. Really bring it to life as a start to upgrading it. I only got it on Wednesday. But I'm pulling this head unit from my old car which was a lot easier to pull off the dash than this car. I'm having difficulties pulling off the ash tray without ripping the thing apart.

I will have to look at mine again to see how the ash tray comes out. From what I remember it wasnt too hard.
