Move to a state that doesn't have BS "inspection" laws.

Or bring it in without the doors on.................

Dude, ... it's a Jeep! Go swap doors with a buddy who has the same color, or half doors, and get it passed! (and for his/her troubles a nice can of Seafoam for the gastank would be a nice gesture! If it's white or red and you lived in SLC I'd help ya out.

to my knowledge here in utah you dont even need to have the doors on to pass safety.

if you were a inspection technician like me you could "legally-" drive junk cause it would pass all the time.

if it were me, id just take that thing apart and see whats causing the issue.

i dont know where (off the top of my head) to track down a new door latch assembly, but they are out there im sure. try quadratec.com

take a peak inside it, and if its not something you think you can "jerry rig" yourself and make work, youre gonna need a new one, so you will need to take it apart anyways.

ok, just took my own advise about quadratec.

Outter Door Driver's Side Paddle Handle

and

Interior Door Handle

fairly cheap if you need to go this route.

(i just assumed you have a TJ)

take the handle off look inside theres a rod that connects to the handle either the plastic piece that holds the rod on the handle broke and the rod is just hanging there or the hole that the rod sits in on the handle is broke if its the second then you need a new handle if its the first the you need a new plastic retainer piece
