Fair prices on jeeps?

Buddy of mine is looking to join in on the fun and buy himself a wrangler. I went to a used car dealership with him to look at some of the wranglers they had. They had a 2005 (I believe it was a 2005, can't quite remember being that it was a couple of days ago) sport with almost no rust what so ever for 14900, and 2001 Sahara with a bit of rust here and there for like 11k, a 2000 Sahara with little to no rust for I believe 10k. Now I bought my jeep off a family friend so I got a great deal for 1k, plus they threw in a new tranny; But with that I have no idea on what's a fair price for a wrangler really, so I was wondering if you guys could help because I don't want him to get pipped off.

Also all wranglers on the lot have at least 73k miles

Any insight on this matter would help, thanks in advance!

I'm actually listing my 2002 jeep Wrangler X for 10,500 but ill drop the price to 9,000. Let me know if you want to see pictures. Jeeps are expensive because they are built tough and to last. Besides the parts are cheap.

As far as the mileage is concern. If your looking for really low miles then buy a new jeep. The most important thing is to listen to the engine before buying. In my jeep club Miami Offroad Club in Florida I have a friend that has 400,000 on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler X and the engine is quite accept for the muffler. He also makes sure his jeep has all the different liquids it needs to run and sound smooth. As far as the rust, he went to a near by shop and they restored the bottom of jeep for 600.00 dollars. The jeeps you should worry about are the ones from North where it snows and street have salt. The snow and salt eats through the metal. In Florida I don't worry about city adding salt for better traction.
