Fasteners for drop windshield on wranglers

So when I went to put my mirrors on, I stripped a couple of fasteners... The one that holds the windshield in place is ok (thank god), but a few are just gone; I can't get them out even with an impact driver. I'd like to be able to mount these mirrors with BOTH bolts and go more than 45mph, though... Would dremeling a slot into the fastener work? You know, so I can use one of the meaty flat-head bits with the impact driver to get it out. The ones I got out took a few blows with a hammer, and they've been torqued to spec (with threadlocker, of course...) for 15 years.

Do any of you have any other ideas? Any input would be greatly appreciated :)

I used to use a Oreillys chrome mirror in the upper door hinge with a bolt, couple washers, and a lock nut to hold the mirror on. it costs at most $20 and is easier than dealing with relocation brackets imo. Now that same mirror is on a tube light mount on my OR-Fab Cage Grab handle.
