Fastest Speed in your JK

What is the fastest you have gone in your JK? I haven't pushed mine and I was wondering how fast I could push. The TJ we have max out at maybe 85mph but a 2012 sport...I wonder.

With top.

As soon as I hit 90 I backed down. Too many cars. Def could have gone more.

The fastest I ever got a wrangler was 100 mph in my 92 YJ. Topless on the way to the beach. Jeep was stock w/ 28" tires

I did 88 once, but it took "one point twenty-one gigawatts". My next upgrade will be a Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor.

Honestly, not much over 80. Fastest ever in a car; 145 with top down in my Cobra. My 2004 Rubicon was governed at 85.

I've gotten my 98 TJ to go 85 which felt crazy! Cool but crazy.

Fastest ever was 174 on my Suzuki gsxr-1000, and could have gone faster but
I backed down after I saw those numbers haha.

I've been up north of 90 a time or two. Everytime i do, i get this image in my head of the wind catching the jeep wrong and flipping me on my lid...

Not sure how fast I've been on a bike. The speedo needle stopped moving when it hit the stop

I would have pooped if I had seen Johnny Law . I was young and dumb when I did it. More of an acceleration junkie than a speed junkie these days. It's fun to get up to speed quickly, driving fast is actually boring.

Not my Jeep

but one of the guys I've been wheeling with showed me his GPS with a top speed reading of 108 in a '12 JKU Sport, not sure what gears he had, but he said he had more pedal to use if he wanted to.

He thought it might do 115 downhill.

I looked down on the interstate one day and was doing a bit over 90 on 37's. Needles to say I backed off of it a bit.

I've pushed mine to 90 when going down hill. I'm running 32's. It's just a tad over 5mph beyond the speedometer reading, according to the GPS on my Smittybuilt APP.

I've had a variety of cars and trucks in my life. The beauty of a Wrangler (even more so then a Pickup) is that they are really not built for speed. One just cruises at a comfortable speed, usually between 40-80mph, and you get there when you get there. I don't know if there is a limiter on the 12' or 13' jk's. If there is not, they are probably capable of 120mph with there HP rating, but not much more due to wind resistance.

One of these days, I am going to go super fast in my Jeep (2012 JK). Just to see how fast he can go. I normally don't do much over the speed limit and just enjoy driving my Jeep. But with the 285HP, I'm curious. The TJ (02 X) we have it hardly goes pass 85mpg...lol

Mines a YJ 95 / 2.5 / 31"s and the fastest i've gone was about 70. I could have squeezed more out but it feels like its going to fall apart at that speed. Mostly i stay around 60 i think there is no need to go fast in jeeps its all about enjoying what it offers that others can't like topless, doorless.

in the 2011 jk i hit 165km or roughly 102mph, one time, 3 am on a 12 hour roadtrip, never again will that happen. fastest was in one of my old built civics 262km or 162mph. those days are past, i think 80mph would be tops now

I think the fastest I have ever gone is in a Neon about 95. and the whole car felt like it was going to burst into pieces. I think I have gone 70 in my Jeep and he did great. I think witht he new engine I could push him. I just wanna try it once and hit over 100.

lol You should ride a motorcycle sometime.
I took my buddy's SV650 out for a spin and hit 90 before I could even look down at the spedo. I saw it and i was like $#!^ this thing is fast! Granted it's not a busa but it was sooooooo much faster than my buell blast. And smoother too.

I think I had my jeep up to 85 once (with top), but I like to cruise at 65.
