Favorite Parts Brands

So last night I got my first ever Quadratec catalog, and I was amazed at the array of products available..

Which led me to wonder, which brands do you all stand by?

Oh my...that picture was well worth a hijack!

No, there isn't a specific brand/part I was looking at..I was just flipping through going "How does anyone ever decide?!" lol

I was just interested in seeing if there were majority favorites on all the different pieces and parts

I wouldn't say they have the best prices though. Example: Rancho RS9000XL set of 4 = $415 + $50 for shipping, 4wheelonline same set = $304 w/free shipping. Don't get me wrong, it's a great catalog to window shop and sometimes they do have the best deal.

Quadratec, along with 4 Wheel Parts and the likes . . . SUCK!!! It's basically Walmart for your Jeep. Use their catalogs to create your wish list and then do a bit of searching on-line and you'll not only find better prices, but you'll also probably be able to find better customer service, and good advice.

So far the brands I like are Currie, Rokmen, and RockHard. I would steer completely clear of Full Traction and I'd only consider a few items from Rubicon Express. Rough Country, Skyjacker, ProComp are just a few more that I'd avoid.

I don't go by brands. I can't stand it when people load their vehicles up with stuff made in China. I will go without the item before i go there.

I try to buy Made in the USA.

It's a lot more work to find stuff still made here but its worth it.

I also use my local machine and fab shops for custom metal work.

For my particular suspension needs I stand by Rock Krawler. Other than that I like Yukon Gears, and then most other parts I need/use can't be found in a QTech or 4WP catalog.

Full Craption = Absolutely God Awful Customer Service. Parts in stock when you call to place the order, but then certain parts are on back order after the order is placed . . . Parts missing from shipment when it finally arrives . . . Owner/Manager is an A$$ and will not provide any assistance even after purchasing their product unless it is going to lead to another sale . . . FT employees telling you on multiple occasions that they have the part you need in their hand and will have it in the mail that day, and yet it never arrives. Don't take my word for it . . . do a Google search "Full Traction Customer Service" or "Full Traction Sucks" and see what you find . . . apparently I'm not alone. Besides their customer service, their products simply do not hold up to off-road use. One of the guys I know talked with their rep at the Expo and he basically told him that they don't manufacture their products for guys like me that do a lot of wheeling. I went thru an entire set (75 bucks worth) of bushings in one weekend up in Big Bear. I've since replaced most of the FT crap with parts from Currie and have been very satisfied with the result.

Rubicon Express = I've actually had really positive experiences dealing with the staff at RE . . . unlike Full Craption, RE actually took the time to offer advice, followed thru on their promises, and did what they could to stand behind their product. The reason I would only look at RE for a few products (springs, brackets, etc), is like many other companies all of thier kits come with bushings and the design/durability of these bushing sucks. RE has been good about supporting the client and sending out new sets of bushings on their dime, but still having to replace bushings after every few runs (they do hold up much better than the Full Craption ones) gets real old real quick. Good guys though.

The FT bushings were removed after one weekend in Big Bear . . . the one RE bushing (at the top) was 3-4 months old.
