feeling dumb

So I drove around the yard for thirty + minutes trying to figure out the clunking noise coming from the rear of my 89 could be. 4 hi to 4 lo to 2 hi to 4 hi etc. I finally realized it was the can of pb blaster rolling around in the back with no carpet that was making the clunking noise. My wife got a good laugh though. Pretty embarrasing.

I had a similar episode after I installed my lights, I pulled off the road twice and walked around it looking all over trying to figure out where the "forgotten tool" was, it was a can of sunscreen that had worked it's way out of storage and was rolling around in the tub with no carpet! Doh!

Been there, done that, just paid for my CJ-7, driving it home, there's one hell of a vibe/rattle, was about to turn around when I found the leaf spring shackles the owner had in the box under the seat came loose.
