i guess im the odd man out here. i face away from the jeep, and jump backwards into the seat and then swing my legs around into it. it is the coolest looking way to get in and out of a jeep.
all my friends do as mentioned above, shove one leg in,. grab hold of something and hurl yourself in.

Slippy, that's how I get out of my jeep. I swing my legs out and hop down. Gets a bit breezy in a skirt.

One hand on the roll bar, pull myself up and sit down.

Now it's really funny watching me try to get into the driver's seat of my one friend's 84 Fiero. Let's just say I'm not graceful and leave it at that (I'm 6'1", take a guess)

33 prior post on how you get in your jeep, and not one of you start by lifting your left leg like I do.......

On a rare occassion I will have someone else drive my Jeep. (mechanics playing find that noise ) Is it just me or does it feel extremely odd getting in on the opposite side?

BTW when the Jeep went up I told my coworkers no more skirts for me

or if it has been raining, you get that weird wet spot on the back of your pants just above your knee.

I go in backwards, and ass first. Right leg, grab roll bar, spin around and land the ass in the seat, pull the left leg in - done!

Right leg in, grab roll bar with right arm, and swing the ass in. Pull left side of body in, shut door (if door is installed) done. Reverse getting out.

Oooh...interesting. I guess I have to work on a different way on climbing up into my Jeep. Thanks for the heads up!

Hey just thought of something when I first read the title of this thread it reminded me of the days of working in the jail and what it always smelled like. But smelled of both.

Right foot in first....Press on edge of seat...weight shifts to left foot for stability...and straight in...6'+ not to much of a challenge.

Is this not normal?
Isn't that the way you're supposed to get in?

You put your right foot in before you sit down though right?

Sitting on the seat and then swinging in your legs does seem like you've caught a bit of Teh Ghey.

Until the first time you smack the back of your head on the cage.

I perfected this little hop to get in, I jsut kinda walk up next to the jeep facing the same way its facing and hop into the seat....its funny when I try to teach people to get into the jeep cause no1 can do it besides me.....my x g/f made me put the nerf bars back on but shes gone so they will come back off when it gets warm

Ouch on the knee.

Funny thread.
Three words boys, Inner Core Strength!

Okay, I am not tall nor is my jeep lifted but right foot in and hop my butt in the seat. Just like getting on a horse, you can grab the steering wheel but just like the horn on the saddle, it's a bit rude on the animal to pull on it. Exiting, swing my feet out and hop down.

Don't think I'll ever lift mine, kid is already looking to lift his. I'll just steal his every now and then for grins and giggles when he does.

I'd have to say its all about the condition that the outside of my jeep is in, which is 90% muddy so I try throwing myself in with out touching anything but the nerfbar with my right foot and plopping my butt inside then swinging in my left leg in. I'm also kinda short at 5'7. With the 3.5 lift and the tires its a big step lol

Its only a couple days old, not that bad for a bump, right?
I'm with the bunch that puts the right leg in, grabs the roll bar or wheel (depends on the day) then slides the ass in.
Here's a question for those of you that do so: Anyone ever catch a belt loop on the latch bolt sticking out of the YJ? I know the TJ's use the loop now so its harder to do, but I swear 9/10s of my jeans have the back left belt loop ripped off because they always catch on the older style bolt.
