Fender questions

I am getting into a new 2012 2dr tomorrow (hopefully, cross fingers!) and I was wondering if anyone has professionally painted their fenders or painted them at home? I don't quite like the plastic look and want it to look more flush with the car's glossy black. Please post a response if you know anything about it and if you've done it yourself/had it done, POST PICS!! Greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 2003 wrangler and I "rhino-lined" the fenders. You need atleast 2 coats if not more

Yes, I was referring to the plastic flares. I want those to be color matched to the body of my jeep. Thanks for all the responses. Any others have input?
