Finally going to look at a Jeep, looks mostly stock.

I'm really excited about this one, but I'd like to get your opinions & maybe some suggestions. It's an 88, 6 cylinder, manual trans. The body, floor pans & frame has some rust. She say's there's no holes, but the drivers side floor almost has holes. But I'll look at the rust closely, for how bad it is, especially the frame. She say's it runs & shifts Ok, no leaks, & the 4WD works good. It looks mostly stock to me, it might have some lift to it. It appears to have been painted. Here's the ad.

The body is in decent shape for the year. Has some rust & its a little rough but runs ok! $129000 miles. Asking $2500 but willing to negotiate!

Sounds like you know what you are getting into with it. Will it be a daily driver? or weekend toy?

More of a weekend toy, but my commute to work is only a mile & a half. Plus I only average 3k a yr on my DD.

I would be all over it, $2500 to be able to drive a Jeep, that is the way to go.

Well, I showed up 10 mins. before I was supposed to & no one was home. The frame was rusted completely through where the rear shackles bolt to the frame & for 4-5" in front of said bolt holes. That was defiantly a deal breaker. Turns out it was an automatic & it was dripping fluid while I was looking at it. Both door hinges were so out of alignment they didn't even have the top hinge pins in the hinges. Other than those problems, it was a nice Jeep.

I'm chalking this one up to a learning experience.
